        Unified Window Systems Inc. was founded in the late 1980's by Steven DiMare and Richard Nardi. Having years of construction experience starting from the ground up, both men knew they could run a successful company together selling and installing windows, doors, siding and roofing. Unified started with one showroom in Hempstead Village and less than 1 million dollars in sales that first year. Now, Unified has four showrooms, having added Huntington, Patchogue and White Plains locations and boasts almost 15 million per year in sales. The company has gone from three office employees and one crew to over 50 employees as well as 12 installation crews that work six days a week. Over the years, the company has added other products like awnings and attic insulation, but remains the largest dealer of its kind for windows, doors, siding and roofing.

        We had a lousy, disappointing experience with Unified. It was for a siding job.

        Furthermore, unfortunately we didn't do our proper investigation and
        research prior to hiring them. Please avoid our mistake and be smart.
        Remember that song by The Who, "Won't Get Fooled Again" ?

        After our negative experience we found the following timely
        information experienced by other former Unified customers:
        1) Nassau County Dept of Consumer Affairs has a record of 14
        complaints from 2008 to 2013 for Unified.
        2) Suffolk County Dept of Consumer Affairs has a record of 4
        complaints for Unified.
        3) The Better Business Bureau of NY has a record of 54 complaints for
        Unified (13 within the past 12 months).
        You can check the publicly available information online about recorded
        complaints made to county and city consumer affairs departments and
        the Better Business Bureau of NY.

        Also, check NYC Dept of Consumer Affairs online too; or in NYC, call
        311 to ask for a record of consumer complaints. Unified's license # is
        0856560 (NYC Dept of Consumer Affairs).

        Overall

        Stay far away !! Worst company with terrible installation. They don't even try to fix the faulty installation . Nasty people with poor ethics, I should have read all the poor reviews ....

        I find some of these complaints far fetched and suspect they are planted by competition. My experience was so far the opposite end of the spectrum it seems almost impossible for them to be true.I had 8 windows, a garage door, and front entry door done. I had no contract or quality problems whatsoever and I just made sure I put "Time is of the essence" in the contract .
