The Palms Pet Resort & Spa

All 3 of our dogs go to The Palms Pet Resort & Spa for boarding, grooming, and Playcare. Our 2 golden retrievers go to Playcare 3 days a week and practically drag me into the building because they are so excited to get there and play. Our Sheltie goes to Playcare 2 days a week. We have also used their training programs, Pet Manners, and Scent Training. The Scent Training was a blast and our dogs really got into it. The facility is spotless and when our dogs are boarded and/or groomed, they come home clean and smelling great.

The Palms Pet Resort is a life saver!!! We take our chocolate Lab Maverick to play care on Mondays and Fridays regularly, we have now taken three training classes, and its our boarding location as well. With our hectic schedules its sometimes difficult to give Maverick the attention and play time he needs as an energetic lab and play care gives him much needed play time. Most importantly he is a very sociable dog and does well with people and other dogs as a result of attending play care. Play care is a place where he is able to play around in a professionally supervised, clean, and safe environment which is hard to come by. The training sessions have opened our eyes to understand that Maverick's behavior is primarily centered on the direction we as owners give him and these classes have been well worth the time and investment. The boarding is superior as well. Overall we highly recommend the Palms to any dog owner for boarding, training, and playcare. The Palms offers a variety of services and is managed and owned by a vet as well. On one occassion Maverick had an incident and the staff took him to the vet in the same parking lot after calling to consult with me. This is an example of their superior service. The staff at the Palms loves our Maverick as much as we love him and take care of him as if he were one of their own. Thank you for all you do for us and Maverick!!!

The Palms Pet Resort is an excellent place to take your pets. I take my three dogs to doggie day care on small dog days. They love it. They get very excited when they see when we are going to the Palms. The part I love is that the Palms has separate days for small dogs apart from other dogs My chihuahuas can play and romp and I don't have to worry about them getting hurt. I have also boarded my dogs at the Palms. The staff are always happy see my pets and greet them by name. The place is always spotlessly clean. I never have a problem with leaving my babies there while I am away.

My dog was staying at the Palms Pet Resort for 3 days. Friday evening it was stated that his toenail was cracked, but no one contacted me until Saturday morning. Well, his toenail was actually ripped out of his paw and had to be sedated to have the toenail removed. I DIDN'T GET AN APOLOGY AT ALL!!! They said, I don't know what happened. I said how do you not know what happened to a dog that had his toenail ripped out of his paw!!!! I spoke with the owner, and he had NO COMPASSION concerning my pet. He stated that he would call me back on a Thursday and I had to call him back the following Tuesday! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THEIR CARE. I paid for them to take care of my baby and all I got was a, your bill is $99! On top of that $500 for the surgery!!!! I am heartbroken to say the least!

It cracks me up that someone thinks this place is like a jail for dogs. No one forced your dog to stay there but YOU lady!! My dogs stay there and they come home happy and very healthy. And its not a 2 x 2 room that is a lie and you know it. And yeah dogs want to get out and play but this place is there to provide us with a safe, secure, CLEAN place for your dogs to stay while you are out of town. You're crazy to think that they should leave them outside in the 100 degree San Antonio heat! And guess what, they have daycare where they can go play with other dogs!! You're willing to pay 5 bucks for coffee but not 5 bucks for your dogs to have one on one time with someone? My dog does not like going outside so whoever does her play time just sits in her room and cuddles with her which is exactly what my dog needs!! My other dogs love to play fetch so they take him outside to play and run for 15 minutes!



I love this place and so do my dogs. I have a theory when it comes to dog kennels and vets: if it smells like dogs I will not allow my dogs to go there. The Palms NEVER smells like dogs!! When my dogs stayed there over Christmas they probably had over a 100 dogs there but you certainly couldn't tell because they keep it so clean. I have no problem paying a little extra money for a place like this because I know my dogs are treated well and they will come home healthy!!

This place is great. We just got our dogs back after being gone a week for Thanksgiving and they were happy and healthy! Have never seen a kennel look and smell so clean. This was our first time at The Palms and we will definately use them again. The people there really seem to care.

Super expensive and catered way more to dog moms than to dogs. I don't think the dogs actually care about looking at a stupid fountain from inside their 2 foot by 2 foot cell. They just want to play outside, only they can't unless mom ponies up 5 extra bucks per walk. As for the poor guys whose mom didn't pay extra for a fountain suite, they stay in jail like plastic kennels in a room with no view and twemty other inmates. Luxury indeed.
