In order to provide you with the best possible care, Dr. Jayme will complete a comprehensive oral examination upon your first visit. This includes a complete review of your medical and dental history, all necessary radiographs and intraoral images, study models, oral cancer screening, periodontal health evaluation, and an examination of your teeth. Following this exam, she will discuss her findings with you, develop a treatment plan that you are comfortable with, and then we will schedule future visits accordingly.

Then our $78 new patient special is just for you! It includes everything you need to get started on a good dental hygiene program. This special includes cleaning, panoramic x-rays, bitewing x-rays and exam.

Teeth Cleaning
A healthy smile starts with routine cleanings, x-rays and exams. It’s easier to take care of your teeth six months at a time as opposed to six years at a time. Routine cleanings prevent future problems by using methods not available to you at home. Our hygienist can also provide personalized guidance for proper, everyday teeth cleaning.

Fortunately, the field of dentistry is also a benefactor in technology advances. A 3D camera and using CadCam technology your tooth and crown are modeled in 3D! Dr. Jayme will check to make sure you have the correct amount of contact to adjacent teeth as well as fitting correctly with the opposing tooth. The design is then sent to the milling unit to make your crown out of a block of material. In the final step your freshly milled crown is placed into a furnace to strengthen the material. All this takes place during your appointment so when you leave you have your tooth completely restored and don’t have to worry about a return trip or having to wear a temporary

Root Canal Treatment
Root canals occur when decay reaches the pulp of the tooth. The nerve then becomes very sensitive and causes a lot of pain. If it becomes infected, an abscess may form. Treatment to remedy the situation is to clean out the root canal and remove the nerve. The canal is irrigated, cleaned and sealed.

Dr. Jayme Mashayekh graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama in 2007 where she was elected to receive membership in the OKU Dental Honor Society. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association and Alabama Association of General Dentistry, as well as the Birmingham District Dental Society. One of her fondest memories is traveling to Ghana, Africa on a medical mission trip. There she provided care for villagers who would never receive medical attention otherwise. Dr. Jayme is married to Hamid and has two children, Grayson and Rylie. In her free time, Dr. Jayme enjoys water skiing, sewing, home renovation projects and spending time with her family.
