General Info

Experience our historic property and taste award winning wines at our family owned and estate winery located in Northern Sonoma County. Our tasting room is open daily from 10-5 for complimentary wine tastings. We offer complimentary cave and winery tours daily at 11am and 2pm. Seated Wine and Cheese Pairings are available by reservation (24 hour notice required) for $25 per person. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful views of our 600 acre property. Since 1975 the Wetzel Family has produced handcrafted estate grown and bottled wines. We were voted Sonoma's Best Winery in 2011 in the San Francisco Baylist Competition.

Wine Cave Tours At 11am or 2pm Daily
Duration: 30 Minutes; Location: Tasting Room; Group Size: 1 - 9 Guests; Deposit Policy: Complimentary. Event Details: The first phase of the cave was added to our winery in 1998 to avoid ongoing costs of barrel storage. In 2000 we tunneled through from the back side of the hill to double the cave's size, and we expanded again in 2008. The tunneling averaged 6 to 8 feet of progress per day. The walls of the cave are reinforced with steel rods beneath 6 inches of concrete. The size of the cave is 24,000 square feet. Capacity is 7500 and we have now 4800 sixty gallon barrels

Event Details: Join us for a grape to glass tour as we hike the Wetzel Family Estate, home of Alexander Valley Vineyards. You'll get an insider's view as we explore our vineyards, while tasting our iconic wines where the grapes grow. We'll pass by our working winery, the original 1868 Alexander Valley school and the Alexander homestead. You will finish up with a wine country style picnic lunch at our tasting room patio.
