Good food, Not sure about services
There is no doubt about the quality of the food that is served at the Vesuvius. I was born and raised in this town and I can attest to fact that many people may have the same opinion.
I am not sure about customer services. Customers that are known by the owner and workers are greeted in a very courteous way; however, that was not the case with a very decent Hispanic couple that was trying to place an order during lunch hour.
The couple was not even acknowledged when they entered the restaurant as if they were trying to avoid them or as if they were not welcome there. I was behind the Hispanic couple and they took my order first. I noticed their body languages and they appeared very upset but were decent enough to wait. There was no doubt they felt discriminated.
Perhaps, some Hispanics have tarnished their reputations in that area but I believe we should not judge a whole community for what others have done.
My family and I have been discriminated in the past specially when my grandparents arrived to this town around the same time as the Vesuvius, but I think we should not treat others the way we were treated. Many of the Hispanics are cleaning the community by fixing their properties and creating businesses just the same way we did. They should be given the same opportunity that was given to us.
