Overall

The dentists here are the best and I've been to a lot. The help is very professional. I don't like needles and they make it almost painless. They also have care credit for people, like me, who don't have dental insurance. Check it out.

Subject: Not Good Experiences, On My Last Visit For Regular Cleaning At Magic Smile, May 9, 2009.

To Whom It May Concern:

My appointment for a regular teeth cleaning at Magic Smile was on May 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM. I arrived at Magic Smile at 9:50 AM. I signed in and was asked to take a seat and wait for my name to be called. I waited. Near one hour later at 10:45 AM I was called into the dentist chair. The Philippina lady technician apologized for the long wait and she told me that she will be taken X-rays. I replied, no thanks I do not want to have X-ray on this visit for a regular cleaning since X-rays were taken on my previous visit when fillings were performed. Her friendly smiles turned into a not so friendly face. She stated again that X-rays should be taken every six months. I said no, I just wanted a regular cleaning as stated in my appointment. Then she said I will have to see the Doctor. I replied, okay. She left the room around 10:50 AM. I waited in the dentist chair. The Doctor did not come to see me.

Around 10:10 AM, another older male Philippino technician rushed into the room and without any greeting and seemed to be in a bad mood, he just told to follow him to another room. I thought it was very unprofessional behavior especially he was an elder technician. He told me to sit in the dentist chair and said he will be taken X-rays and opened the cabinet doors to take out the X-ray machine. He said X-rays need to be taken every six months. I said no. I just want to get my teeth clean. His unhappy face turned into a bad mood after that. He said I will have to see the Doctor. He left the room around 10:12 AM. I sat there in the Dentist chair looking at the clock. I glanced at the clock again and again. 10:20 AM passed, 10:25 AM passed, I said to myself if the Doctor does not come at 10:30 AM or they won’t provide the service, I would leave.

Around 10:29 AM the Doctor came into the room, she checked my teeth and they were in good order, then she reminded me that on my next dentist visit they will need to take X-rays. I said fine and asked can I get my regular cleaning? The Doctor said okay and left the room. The elder technician was behaving in a frenzy manner. He rushed through the cleaning, water was spraying on my face like never before when other younger technicians were providing the service. He did not clean my teeth, but instead bleeding all my gums. He rushed through the process in about 5 to 10 minutes and finished around 10:40 AM. My teeth were not cleaner compare to when I walked into the dentist office. On my previous visits when the younger technicians provided the service, they performed their job professionally.

It is unacceptable for a dentist office to treat a patient this way. Hope Magic Smile treats all patient professionally even when they refuse some of the services, like X-rays, etc., recommends by Magic Smile.

Regards,

A former patient
