Don't EVER bring your car here!!! I brought my car in because it kept stalling out.I drove up from Newport, RI,and told them I needed to drive back the 100miles that night. My check engine light was on. Left the car with them ALL DAY. .When I picked it up they said it was all set,couldn't find anything wrong with it...even though it read 7 error codes..I begged him to make sure that car was safe...I had 4 kids in that car,promised me it was...Took it and left...I drove 12 miles onto the highway and it broke down...I had to have it towed to RI..$630!!! mechanic fixed it for $ sparkglugs...they never touched my car,all they did was reset the codes..I called them and he changed his story like 3x...and all I got was sorry..


The brake it and then won't replace it.

I brought my car in to have tires mounted and balanced. Not only did they break my new hub cap, they put it in my back seat and didn't tell me they broke it. When I called the next day to talk to the head of the shop he told me "the plastic breaks, it's the winter and they were probably old." He further explained that he told the tech to tell me..yet he knew my car was already pulled to the door and the tech was back in the shop. He knew and he didn't tell me and they won't replace them. I would love to know what they would do if they broke a part of value in your car. Luckily I only have to replace my hub caps. Do yourself a favor and find another garage.



My name is Trevor. I took my car to Monro to have my brakes looked at. After about 5 minutes of the mechanic looking at it, he said my car was "unsafe" to drive and that I had to leave it with them immediately. The next day, I got a call from Jim, the manager, stating that I needed $600 worth of work including front and rear brakes and a front wheel barring. I had them "fix" it and I still noticed a problem the very next day with my brakes.

I took it back to Monro, and Jim looked at my truck thinking it was the rear brakes.

My tire was taken off and my rear brakes fell apart at that moment. I inquired as to the reason they were not taken care of, and Jim stated "This shouldn't have been missed. I will compensate you with free brakes." HOWEVER, this was the problem that should have been fixed in the FIRST PLACE!

About a month later, I had another family mechanic look at my truck for front end shaking issues. He stated that my front wheel baring was NEVER replaced. Again, ANOTHER part that Jim said was replaced was NOT replaced!

At this point, I was furious, I went to talk to Jim a THIRD time about another problem they did not fix. Jim refused to replace the part and insisted that they did that work on my truck. I know for a FACT it was not replaced!!!!!

Jim is a disgrace and a poor excuse of a manager. He needs to watch his technicians better because some of them don't know what they are doing....

STAY AWAY FROM MONRO, they are NOT to be trusted.


I've never had a worse experie...

I've never had a worse experience getting any repairs done with my car. It started out with missed promises for dates to look at my car or get going on the repair, which was a small transmission fluid leak.

First they couldn't get the parts, I understand delays around the Jan 1st holiday, stuff happens. Two days in a row is unacceptable, all the time being very apologetic. Unfortunately, being sorry does not get me my car back when they told me it would be.

I called back the following day (now Wednesday, I brought it in on Sunday, was supposed to be fixed by Tuesday), the person I've been talking to, Pete, was busy. I asked for them to have him call me back, they agreed. He didn't. They call me at about 10am the next morning to tell me they've lost my key, and I need to go to a dealership to get one made for them. They offered to pay for it (the LEAST they can do at this point). I get them the key, hoping the worst was over. Not so lucky.

They agreed to call me by 8am Friday to give me a time frame for my car. No call, I call them at 10:30, talk to Pete again, he says they tried to start my car but my battery has died. They're charging their jump kit and will get to work on it ASAP and if need be get a new battery. I call at 2:30pm, Pete tells me someone is bringing them a new battery today (Friday) for the car. At this point, this is beyond ridiculous. They knew my battery was dead (their fault) and it takes almost a full day to rectify that problem? Really?

Obviously it won't be until Saturday at the earliest for me to get this fixed, but upone seeing some of these other reviews here (and other places), I think I'm going to go get my car from them before they can start work on it and take it to the dealer I normally go to. I don't trust that I even need this ~$500 part from them at this point, at least not after this treatment.

At this point, sorry doesn't cut it.


Tire install

I just,went today to have 2 tires installed by the monroe location in main st haverhill ma i asked the guy at the counter if they can put on 2 tires on my wife's minivan that i already had. All they needed to do was to mount the tires and balance them. I asked him how much it was going to be he said 60 dollars, to me that's a bit crazy so i called the location in lawrence an the guys there told me 24 dollars ro mount and balance . To me i felt desrispected by this location he prety much standed at the counter and lyed to me. I hope peopole that shop there realize they are getting stiffed and to find a new shop to go.

maibe you need a new staff there the ones that are there SUCK....
