The hostess was rude, didn't smile and acknowledge us. Felt like we were in her way. Waitress kept calling me sweetheart. Didn't appreciate the cute attitude when all we wanted was to eat. We also waited for one half hour to be seated with a reservation. We won't go out of our way for this one again.

NOT Satisfied at all..stood there waiting for a hostess to seat us for about 30 minute & then they tell us a table was ready & there wasnt enough spots available for our group. THEN the waitress was rude & barely helped us at all...All in all, wouldnt go there again, food wasnt even that good
the best place for a good all you can eat friday fish fry and is cheaper then you can make it at home. other daily specials. the big game room is great for kids young and old. TRY IT even if you have to wait.

Ok, with bad reviews outpacing good by at least 2:1, you might wonder whether people don't bother to review when they love a restaurant, but go out of their way to slam it when they don't. Then again...\r I was just at the Mineshaft for the first time today.\r It's 4:30 p.m.. I scan an 8-page menu I'd never seen before for something besides a salad that is not deep fried or breaded or otherwise fat and sodium laden, while my two 11 year old companions, who had twisted my arm to bring them here for dinner and the *arcade,* were ordering sodas and meals. I ask the waitress to give me a couple more minutes...\r Ok, so I wasn't paying attention, but by what stretch of the imagination does a waitress understand that a 95# 11 year old wants a 20-ounce bottomless soda, no ice, along with her meal? Both girls were served these gargantuan sodas. I thought it must be some restaurant gimmick.\r When I got the bill, I asked our waitress what was the age limit on ordering from the kids menu, since apparently nothing was. She said 11. So why the big sodas, I wanted to know, since I understood that at least the grilled cheese was ordered from the kids menu. She was kind enough to deduct one *$2.49* soda from our bill. We didn't get the two free arcade tokens that come with each kids meal since I didn't know to ask about them.\r The food was generally good--a simple soft white bread grilled cheese with fries, [heavily] breaded shrimp dinner (most likely oven baked from frozen) with extremely salty soup and nothing special fries that got cold too quickly and a small thin crust pizza, deliciously done.\r White collar professional office types congregated near the bar downstairs, and a few even in the arcade. A clean, lively place. Lots of families dining.\r Definitely a step up from Chuck e Cheese.\r Watch out for wait staff who push 20 ounce bottomless caffeinated sodas on 11 year old's while their parents aren't looking. lol

Waitress was good but I asked to speak to a manager about the food. Basically- chicken breast on my salad was to dry and hard to eat. It was something close to chicken jerky. It was obviously a cooked chicken breast that they put back on the grill to heat up. I have had this problem consistently when eating there. Manager offered no apologies just that she always orders that and she has no problem with and no one else have ever complained. She never ever said I will speak to the cooking staff about. She did however tell me maybe I should order something else or change the way i eat. (Sounds to me like she was telling me that I made this up and she was going to do nothing about it.) Certainly not the way to conduct business, in my opinion.

I went to a fish fry on 9/3/10 around 5pm with my parents and aunt. The waitress never brought my soup that I ordered until I reminded her a second time. The food took about 30 minutes from the time the order was taken. We paid for the ""refillable soda"" that was never refilled. And the final straw was the server brought my father a glass of beer that had a crack running down the side. He cut his hand. No apology.

We have been going to the Mineshaft for years enjoy the food & our waitress Shela always nice & friendly. We have never been disapointed with the food or service. If you want a treat please try it for yourself .
Thanks Shela & the Mineshart keep up the great work
Went for a fish fry which was pretty good. Prices not bad either.
12 bucks gets you a large 16 inch and pitcher of beer
homade sausage is great, good value, takes great
Anything deep fried is O.K. the rest of it sucks like frozen food.

While on Tour, our entire cast went to the mineshaft after a performance in Hartford. Though the food tasted fine, five of us came down with food poisioning. After one week, three of us are still experiencing severe problems. The food we all shared in common was the Cream Cheese Jalapenos. Pretty sure that this caused the problems. WATCH YOUR A@@ IN THIS PLACE!!!!!

Came 12 miles to hopefully have an off-the-menu breakfast, only to find out only buffet breakfasts are served on Sunday. After having lost 15 lbs, I really was not interested in eating most of the items on the buffet. The food which was supposed to be hot was cold. The restaurant was cold. We ate the little bit that appealed to us and got out ASAP. Had always been a fan of the Mineshaft in the past but doubt that we'll be back.

Crust was burned, sauce nonexistant. Pizza tasted like cardboard. At least the nacho chips were okay. Spaghetti sauced canned so also not very good. Some sort of funky tasting herb in the meatballs. Resembled grass. Cost of drinks too much. The ambience sucked - loud kids everywhere and we were unable to hold a conversation. The smoke drifted into the nonsmoking section. Service was slow - over an hour for a plate of spaghetti and yucky pizza. Will NEVER return or recommend this restaurant. Very disappointed as it came highly recommended.
