Central Penn Buy and Sell

Best service and very knowledgeable when it comes to there merchandise I would highly recommend this store to anybody looking for a great deal on quality merchandise with very nice staff I always leave satisfied and happy after shopping at this establishment.

BUYER BEWARE! I normally do not try to give businesses a negative review but feel it is fitting from my own personal experience. I was on Craigslist looking for airless paint sprayers when I came across an ad for a Graco machine for a fair price. The paint sprayer is described in the ad as “runs great.” I called and spoke to a man named Kevin who told me it was at his friends shop named Central Penn Buy and Sell in Harrisburg. I had gotten in touch with the owner who said he would be in anytime after 2. I drove over 50 miles to get there, arrived around 2:30 and was not greeted as the nameless employees who worked there were busy talking amongst themselves, on their phones, and yelling, trying to control the one employees 6 year old who was yelling in the shop consistently for the entire time I was in the store. The owner was not there and never showed, leaving the two employees to help. All four people I had talked to claimed it worked well. The machine took multiple pulls to start and did not run properly. The sparkplug was vibrating loose, the engine was rattle canned silver, the tank dented, the filters crushed and clogged. That alone goes to show that the internals of this machine were probably just as neglected. The pump did not build any pressure and the gun did not spray a drop of water. I ended up showing them how the machine worked. They could not get the machine to function properly, let alone work great and yet they still wanted full price, swearing it worked. I asked them, “would you buy a car you did not see run?,” and they still did not understand why I would not pay the $500 they asked for it. I am very dissatisfied with this shop. I wasted hours of my day and drove over 100 miles to find out that this machine needed much maintenance and was not even close to “works great” and “starts first pull” as promised. This place sells junk and is strictly concerned in making a buck. Nobody cared or even seemed concerned that I was unsatisfied. As an owner, this man should take responsibility for his actions, his employees, and customers piece of mind. All in all, the guy Kevin just posts what the owner tells him without verifying how anything actually functions, the owner makes lets his unmotivated, uneducated employees run the shop, while he gives the customer false information. I am sure if this sort of thing happens on the regular, that the shop will not be open very long. Sorry for the long story but I am not one to let some business like that run me around. Worst shopping experience I have had in a long time.

Unprofessional staff along with a very hostal business environment. Went there on what ended up being a false advertisement. I would not take anything this business or its employees say as truth

I've tried to sell things at other "pawn shops" in HBG and have been told they aren't buying. Then I found Central Penn. They are always willing to give me a fair price for whatever I'm looking to sell. There is also a great selection of movies, tools and jewelry. There's something for everyone. The service is always great! I would recommend Central Penn to anyone looking to sell anything, or buy anything for a great price! These other places don't compare

This place has everything and the prices are great. Even if you don't necessarily find what your looking for, you will walk out with something you need!!!

Can't believe how wonderful the customer service was! And with killer merchandise at incredible prices, you can't help but find yourself coming back again and again!
