He spent seven years as an active duty U.S. Air Force officer and was the Ophthalmology Element leader at Eglin Air Force Base from 2007-2010.Â A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Dr. Dahl spent six months in 2009 as the only military ophthalmologist in Afghanistan, performing more than 300 trauma surgical procedures. He received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal for his service while deployed.

A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye. Deciding to have cataract surgery usually comes when you are no longer satisfied with the quality of your vision. Glare around headlights and streetlights is a common cataract symptom. The cloudier the cataract, the blurrier the vision. There are other medical indications for cataract surgery including cataract-induced glaucoma. Surgery may also be indicated if a cataract prevents your doctor from seeing the retina or treating other conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy, which involves damage to the small blood vessels of the retina.

Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct upper and lower eyelid drooping and puffiness (bags and dark circles under the eyes). Common symptoms include a heavy feeling of the upper lids, the upper lids blocking vision, having to raise the eyelids to see better. If you experience some of these symptoms your insurance may cover the procedure. Blepharoplasty procedures are performed at The Eye Surgery Center for your convenience and safety. Anesthesia is provided for your comfort. A friendly knowledgeable staff will take care of you. This outpatient procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
