I've eaten here twice and although the atmosphere and decor is fun, the food and service are both lacking. The food is indicative of New Orleans, but the flavor is nowhere near the boldness of the south. The best part of my meal was the tartar sauce. The servers/bartenders just sit and talk to each other instead of customers. I tried it twice since I love New Orleans so much, but probably won't be back.
Anytime I've ever eaten at Bay City Seafood, I thought the food was good. It may have been great but it was hard to tell because of the extreme smokiness in the restaurant (yes, in the non smoking section). The smoke is so bad, we've stopped going there as we have small children. I think if the restaurant went non smoking, the food rating would go from good to great.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Bay City Seafood. The scallops au gratin were delicious! We have only dined one time there, and we will go back. The service was nice too.
