Primary Care
Children's Medical Group is at the forefront of primary care pediatric asthma management. We offer a comprehensive asthma program that guides families through diagnosis, treatment and management of the condition. Learn more about this special program at the Pediatric Resource Center.
Ear Infections
Children's Medical Group has put together the following guide for when your child has a cold, fever, or ear infection. It includes helpful information on how you can help start to manage your child's symptoms. Remember, these are just guidelines. We are always here to assist you and you should always call if you're concerned or if your child's symptoms require immediate attention as described below.

Yale-New Haven Hospital is our preferred hospital for emergency care. If time permits, please call us before going to any emergency room so we can ensure your child is receiving the best medical treatment.
Immunizations
Our mission at Children’s Medical Group has always been to provide quality healthcare to all of our patients and be a partner in the commitment to support public health and safety. Therefore, due to the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases such as Measles and Whooping Cough, we have formalized our office vaccination policy.

Obstetrics
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Carolyn served in the United States Coast Guard. After her service she worked as a registered nurse for 14 years, much of this time at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital where she worked in-patient obstetrics and pediatrics and as the coordinator of the childbirth education program. She also spent several of her registered nurse years as a school and camp nurse.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Johnny Lu, MD, FAAP, has been in private practice since 2012 and joined Children's Medical Group in 2015. Dr. Lu is a Kentucky native who received his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric training at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Dr. Lu has done medical missions in Ghana. He has a strong clinical interest in nutrition, asthma and ADHD.
Mental Health
Children's Medical Group offers a wide range of assessments based on your child's age and areas of concern. These include general developmental assessments for young children and learning, attention, and mental health assessments for older children. This requires a visit separate from a routine well-child visit. At this appointment, we will perform an age-specific exam focused on the areas of concern.

Endocrinologist

Endocrinology
Dr. DeLucia, DO, FAAP, joined Children’s Medical Group in 2009. She is a native of North Haven, Connecticut. She received a B.S. from Fairfield University and a M.S. from New York Medical College. Prior to medical school, Dr. DeLucia did clinical research in the pediatric endocrinology department at Yale. She received her medical degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or D.O.) from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island. Dr. DeLucia completed her pediatric residency training at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford. Her clinical interests include nutrition and bone health. She loves to cook as well as travel and spend time with her extended family.

It is generally good practice to wash all baby clothes before wearing. If your family or baby has a history of sensitive skin, eczema or atopic dermatitis, we recommend using a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic laundry detergent.

Physical Therapists

Sports Medicine
Jennifer Searles, APRN, joined Children's Medical Group in 2010. She received her undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston and her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Quinnipiac University. Her specialty focus is in concussion management and sports medicine. She currently resides in Bethany, where she enjoys photography, camping, scrapbooking and spending time with her husband, son and two dogs.
