- General Info:
- In 1979, Mary and Marty Botham moved to California to start Princeton Seafood Company. Beginning as a fish wholesale business, they quickly expanded to sell mouth-watering fish & chips, clam chowder, and other traditional dishes alongside the full service seafood market. Thirty years later, the restaurant menu still uses the award-winning clam chowder recipe that Marty's Mom created. But the menu today reflects local tastes, with an emphasis on fresh, healthy meals prepared in an authentic California style. Grilled fish selections, paired with flavorful vegetables and pastas, are fresh-off-the-boat, mainly sourced from local fishermen right here in Half Moon Bay. Dedicated to the community, Mary and Marty open their doors to many non-profits and educational events. Schoolchildren are welcomed several times a year to learn how restaurants work, and how seafood makes it from boat to kitchen to table. Every month, Princeton Seafood Co sponsors Cool Harbor Nights where they partner with a local non-profit in a 50/50 drawing that brings in much-needed funds. The Bothams welcome you to enjoy all the attractions of Pillar Point Harbor and the Half Moon Bay Coastside, and of course, the fine food at Princeton Seafood Company market and restaurant.

Don't be fooled by new places that claim they have the best chowder, cause Marty makes the best at Pinceton Seafood.
Everything is great in the restaurant, but in the back you can get killer fresh fish, his chowder ready to be heated up by you at home, and everything else you would need. Great find, we live 1 mile away and couldn't live without Pinceton Seafood. An landmark that watches all the new cool places come and go...drive right past Sam's chowderhouse and save 1/2 the cash...view more and get way better food.view less
This is a must for are family and friends. The FOOD is GREAT, and the price is right. People always ask me ""where's a great place for food on the coast,? I run into many people if San Francisco, CA, that come from all over the world. So I must tell them THIS IS A MUST STOP on there way on the coast. Salmon fish and chip. First place winners for years on the
""The clam chowder"", and fresh fish in the market to take home right from the boats. STOP BY , but leave me SOME FOOD.
My family and i go here at least once a month . the food is reasonably priced and very good. They have the best clam chowder in a bread bowl around. you can order in the restaurant or get food from the to go window and eat a picnic tables set along the harborShare Review
I surprised my husband yesterday with a trip out to Half Moon Bay for his birthday. After a relaxing horseback ride on the beach, I took him to lunch at the Princeton Seafood Company restaurant on Pillar Point. This was our first visit to this restaurant, but it won't be our last! What a pleasant surprise for both of us! The hostess greeted us warmly, and seated us immediately. Our server, Melissa, was prompt, cheerful and attentive. We started our meal with oysters on the half...view more shell, which were the freshest and most delicious oysters we have ever had (& we have them often!) The perfectly seasoned homemade New England style clam chowder was the best we've ever eaten (east or west coast). My husband ordered fish and chips and I had the fried calamari. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. Marty (the owner) took the time to meet & talk with us during the busy lunchtime, and made us feel very welcome. The ambiance was clean, casual and comfortable. The menu offered a nice variety and was reasonably priced. The ample portions were more than adequate: We took home leftovers, & skipped dinner. We live in San Jose, & usually go to Santa Cruz when dining out for seafood, as we are very picky about having only fresh seafood; but we think driving the extra few minutes is definitely worth the trip over to Half Moon Bay for a great meal at the Princeton Seafood Company restaurant. Not at all pretentious, just a really nice down-to-earth place to eat.view lessProvided by Citysearch
