While this is an older park, the owners have cleaned it up, maintained it, and loved it. The sites are good for any sized rigs and there are a lot of lawns and trees. The store is well stocked and you can get pretty much anything from a fishing license to your next meal. The park fronts Hwy 50, but night time noise is virtually not an issue even for the front sites as it is not a busy road (at night). Trees and lawns add to the charm as do the views of the lake. Stan and Pat are great people whose love for their business shows.
Their broadband and cell phone service can be weak but it always is in the mountains of CO, so it is no different than anywhere that is not close to a major city.
There is a great deal to do in the area, so seek out advice on what you want to do and then go enjoy it. Day time tempatures are usually good with highs being in the 80's in the summer. Night times are cool to almost cold, so make sure to have a coat and an extra blanket. You will sleep well.
If you are not used to the altitude make sure you drink plenty of extra water and take it slow when walking.
