Services/Products
As a licensed acupuncturist and naturopathic physician, I merge Eastern and Western healing traditions to offer you a comprehensive approach to natural medicine. I rely on the wisdom of both ancient and modern healing disciplines to help rebuild health and promote wellness. I believe the body has an innate healing ability that flourishes when we promote a healthy mind set and nurture spiritual, emotional and physical well being. Of course, as an emergency medical technician, I also know that there are times when more aggressive medicine is needed and I am happy to work in an integrative manner with other health care practitioners to ensure that you receive comprehensive care. In addition to acupuncture and naturopathic therapies, I incorporate the most modern of diagnostic testing. This is to assess possible imbalances in the nervous, immune, endocrine, and digestive systems, and utilize professional grade medicinal formulations to help correct imbalances.

Facial rejuvenation is the use of acupuncture both directly on the face and constitutionally to promote overall health and wellbeing, and to create a smoother, brighter and more youthful looking complexion. Usually twelve to fifteen treatments are required to achieve maximum benefits. Periodic checkups help to maintain the results. The facial treatment also includes facial qua sha (a very gentle skin scrapping technique) and tuina (massage) therapy to further promote facial qi flow and remove toxins from facial tissues; jade facial rollers; and nutritional recommendations from Dr. Ferreira to help promote beauty and vitality from within.
Cosmetics and skin care products can contain numerous toxic chemicals. Synthetic perfumes used alone or included in beauty and hygiene items can contain up to 600 hundred ingredients in a single formulation; up to 4,000 ingredients are used by the industry. Many of the ingredients are protected by trade secrecy and not listed in the product ingredient list. Some known ingredients include methylene chloride, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, ethanol, benzyl chloride, polyvinyl- pyrrolidone plastic (carcinogenic) and formaldehyde. Lipstick has recently been in the news due to the fact that many lipsticks contain lead. Lipstick is a double whammy because it is absorbed through the skin and swallowed. Fluoride toothpaste can contain ammonia, ethanol, artificial colors and flavors, formaldehyde, mineral oil, sugar and carcinogenic polyvinyl-pyrrolidone plastic.
Sports medicine involves techniques that help to increase the strength and vitality of an athlete, prolong an athlete’s ability to partake in their sport, and rehabilitate an athlete when they have been injured.
