Cotter Corporation is a Denver, Colorado based company. It was originally incorporated in 1956 in New Mexico as a uranium production company. General Atomics acquired Cotter Corporation in early 2000. Cotter Corporation produces uranium, vanadium, molybdenum, silver, lead, zinc, copper, selenium, nickel, cobalt, tungsten and limestone through its various mining and milling operations. The firm has acquired numerous uranium/vanadium properties in the Uravan Mineral Belt of Western Colorado and owns 15 uranium/vanadium mines in Southwest Colorado. It has also acquired the Schwartzwalder Mine in Colorado, which gives a production of approximately 17 million pounds. Cotter Corporation has been acknowledged nationwide as a model for Total Quality Environmental Management.
