Have had many wonderful meals at

Have had many wonderful meals at Chianti and consistently great food (truly outstanding, including specials) as well excellent service. A nice place to entertain friends. We went last night and we saw Paco, finally he is back. He is the best, he really knows how take care of customers.

We loved it

My visit at Chianti was a success. I took 3 of my employees.
All of them loved the food and the service. The bread was still hot, my cappellacci were very flavourfull (roasted squash ravioli), the chicken parmesan was tender and delicious, scaloppine piccatta one of the best (my employee told me)
And the price????
A complete bargain, the wine was extremely inexpensive.
(a bottle of nice Chianti for $22).
We loved it.

Not as great as they all say!

Went with hubby for a romantic dinner without the kids. We ate there last year and it was great, but something changed this time. The food was salty and the pasta was hard & dry. Sent it back followed by a another salty dish. Waiter understood the problem and should had not charged us, but did anyway. So felt money was wasted since such an expensive restaurant. Hope things improve!

Great italian food

This is a well kept secret in the DTC area. Amazing Italian food that tastes much better (and costs the same if not less) than at the ""fancier"" Italian places. Very small and cozy restaurant. But the food - stunning!
The decor is a bit dated and cheesy - could stand remodeling and the staff uniforms could be nicer looking. However, the service is very friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great tips regarding the food. Overall, highly recommend.

Great Food at a Great Price

Chianti is low key and you would never know it was there unless you were looking for it. I was turned onto Chianti during a cab ride when my driver told me he thought it was the best food in the city. Now that I've been, I understand what he's talking about. The food is better than other ""high-end"" Italian places, and there are many things on the menu for under 20 bucks. It feels like a bargain considering the quality of the product. Great wine list and very friendly staff (however they are easily overwhelmed during peak hours). I will be going back many many times.

BEST STAFF IN DENVER

I had to take a moment to write this review. This is my second visit and will not be the last.
My wife and I invited another couple with us for dinner this past fryday night.
We all left speechless. Everithing was wonderful- from the service to the food to the wines.
I had a seefood pasta dish that was amazing, my wife and our friends were very very happy about their food too. The only recommendation/suggestion I have is your web site. I was disappointed to see so little about this wonderful restaurant.
Wish you all the bestwith this treasure you have @ Venice Restaurant.

Awesome small restaurant

Outstanding service, authentic food.
The service was a little slow, but Sheela was great anyway.
My Carpaccio was one of the best. My wife loved the spinach salad. My Cioppino was outstanding.
My wife had the scampi. she really liked it even if too al dente.
We love everything about Chianti even the ceiling.

Quality food and low prices

We were a Chianti 2 times in February.
The food is THE BEST in the DTC area.
The first time we had average service, the second time we had great service.
The food was outstanding both time.
We loved the chicken San Gimignano, ravioli norma, the salads were also great.
I think the best dish was the cappellaci and the veal limone.
The tiramisu was the best I have ever had.
Sheela was great.

Poor quality. Beware of 5-star reviews, probably staff / owners.

I visited this restaurant for Valentine's '08. I must say, I was VERY disappointed. We were sat at a wobbly table in a noisy bar, when there were plenty of tables available in the dining room. We asked to be moved. Waiter's breath smelled like cigarettes (seriously). The prix fixe menu was printed with tacky designs on paper. Bottle of Banfi was reasonably priced (one of the two good things about the evening). Three of the items we chose from the menu were not available. 'Pere' salad was a bland mix with pears thrown on top. Eggplant parmigiana was decent (the other good thing about the evening). The Ahi Tuna was nothing special. The ribeye steak was not at all impressive, it was covered in rosemary and was overcooked. The asparagus simply tasted of steak. My girlfriend and I both had the lobster ravioli, which was a HUGE disappointment. The ravioli had thin edges which were very rubbery and the whole dish tasted extremely 'fishy.' I really would not be surprised if it was frozen. The tiramisu might also have been bought-in. It was mediocre at best. One thing I noticed was that the portions were huge, not in such a positive way, but more as an indication of an unprofessional kitchen staff. Waiter was a bit of a nuisance during dinner, making awkward small talk, hovering etc...But, as soon as he picked up our dessert plates, he let us know that he could cork the wine so that we could take it with us (a waiter trick to rush customers out of the restaurant, made especially offensive considering it was Valentine's and I was paying $200+ for two people). He took the check off the table immediately after it was signed. We did not see him for the last 30min. I did notice that as soon as we left and were getting in the car, he reappeared and walked over to the table to see if there was wine left in the bottle (trademark of a seedy waiter / restaurant, I know from 6 years in food service). ""Chefs"" walked around in baggy jeans and backwards hats towards the end. HORRIBLE.

Terrible service and very unorganized

Worst service we have ever experienced. I made reservations at Chianti for a special New Year's Eve Celebration with my significant other. When we got to the restaurant we were told they had lost our reservation and the next table would not be available until 9 p.m. I put my name in for 9 p.m. and gave them my cell phone number to call in case a table became available sooner. My girlfriend and I went to a local bar for drinks to wait. At 9 p.m. I got a call and they said they were not going to be able to accomodate us at all. Chianti ruined our New Year's Eve celebration first by losing our reservation and then went back on their word and wasted our time from 7:30 to 9 during which we could have been searching for another restaurant to eat at. Zero out of 5 stars for Chianti's lack of professionalism!!!
