The steaks we had were very tasty. I had the filet and my date had the ribeye. Both were the best i have ever tried. The salads were small but enough, and the dressings were very good. The cheesecake was outta this world good.
This place has been around for a long time, and it is clear why> They give you alot of food, and don't charge you for every little thing. The servers were all very friendly and helpful.
We will be back.

The Food at Charlie's is amazing. My family and i tried out Charlies for the 1st time this weekend. We were very pleased at the food, service, and presentation at charlies.
The entrees we ordered were the Filet (which was very tender and delicious), the ribeye (which was extremey tasty), and the chicken (which was tasty but sort of dry).
We given fresh romaine/spring mix salads prior to our entree, along with crackers and some of their homemade dressings. Then the food. Then we ordered some of their very very good cheesecake. Overall this was an excellent meal. We will continue to be patrons for a very long time.

My husband and I have been eating at Charlies for quite some time now... We were 1st told about the restaurant by a friend when we moved to the area. On our 1st visit, we decided to order the steak for 2. It was excellent sirloin, and very tasty, but it was just a little too tough for me. We decided to give Charlies another chance and this time i Ordered the Filet, and my Husband ordered the Porterhouse T-Bone. Since, i have decided i am not a ""Sirloin Girl"". I love the Filet at charlies. All i have to add is Salt, and it is perfect. My husbands T-Bones are always huge (the filet on the bone is as big as the filet i order).
Also, while the baked potatoes are very large, the onion rings and french fries are the best.
My husband and i will continue to be patrons of Charlies for as long as we live in Greenville.

This restaurant is truely outstanding!! The steak was the best I have ever eaten--you could cut the Filet with your fork!! And, they have the very best French Fries and Onion Rings! Our evening was truely remarkable-- the wait staff was very much worth the tip we left them. There were lovely tablecloths and cloth napkins at every table and, the band on Friday and Saturday nights liven things up!! And, the dessert was exceptional! We were told that the Baklava, the Key Lime Pie, and all the desserts, were homemade-we could tell!! If you haven't been there, you should try it. No wonder we were told that it is the ""Oldest Steak House still run by the same family in South Carolina""!!
My wife and i have been eating at Charlies Steak House for nearly 6 years now.
Everytime we go in we are completely satiated.
The staff treats us like family, possibly because it is very friendly family owned buisness.
The food is Amazing
I always eat either the T-Bone or Ribeye, and my wife always eats a Filet.
They make nearly everything there from scratch, which include the dressings, fries, and sauces.
If you are looking for more modern places to eat where you get food that comes in frozen and tasteless, and sauces and spices need to be added in order to make the food edible Then this is not the place for you.
If you like awesome food, and great service, go to

Plastic table cloths, smell of urine cakes, and the cheapest steak of $20 that my husband and I both thought tasted just like Waffle House's... This place is way overrated. I had a bourbon and coke to drink which was good, a shrimp cocktail that was $8.95 and consisted of 5 recently THAWED squishy shrimp, an $8.95 Greek salad that was served in the same size bowl as my husband's dinner salad and was comprised of chopped iceburg lettuce, four onion slices, four tomato slices, three canned black olives, a couple of pepperocini, and was swimming in balsalmic dressing. Needless to say, I left more than three quarters of it uneaten. My husband had the NY strip, it came with a dinner salad--just iceburg lettuce and tomatoes with a choice of either thousand island, parmesan peppercorn, or bleu cheese dressing. The steak was tasteless and had been cooked on a griddle and was greasy with oil. The baked potato came only with butter and sour cream and was an average (small) size. They did bring bread but it was not heated. Their were crackers on the table with butter when we were seated. The server was polite and friendly, but he did take about 20 minutes to bring us our check. (However, in his credit, he probably thought we were actually going to spend time EATING the food--which we did very little of...) The place was pretty crowded on a Saturday night--but to be honest, everyone was over 65. And that is the type of place Charlie's is--old fashioned, you actually feel like you have stepped back into the fifties. My grandfather would think it was really fancy and love it. My husband and I hated it and left hungry--and felt robbed of $.
