THIS WOMAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF!!! I AM SICK OF AFRICANS COMING OVER HERE AND TRYING TO TAKE ALL THE BUSINESS WITH SOME SERVICES THEY KNOW THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO DO. DREADS FOR EXAMPLE. I WENT THERE TO GET MY LOCS LATCHED AND IT TOOK OVER 5 HOURS WITH TWO PEOPLE ON MY HEAD AND IT NORMALLY TAKES SOMEONE A LITTLE OVER 2!!! WHEN I ASKED WHY SHE WAS SO SLOW, SHE STATED, WELL WE DON'T DO DREADS EVERYDAY SO WE NOT AS FAST AS SOMEONE ELSE!! AND THEN SHE STARTED TALKING IN FRENCH TO THE OTHER WOMEN ABOUT ME, ASSUMING I DIDN'T KNOW FRENCH. LOL "C'EST LE PIRE MAGASIN, JE N'AI JAMAIS E'TE'!!!

I started out with Nina's sister-in-law years ago before Nina. Nina was fine at first but the bigger her clientele became, the worse her service got. I would go to her house and sit all day and night. Instead of having two braiders to get customers in and out, she would have one young girl stay on each person's head which meant you had to sit up to 10 or 11 hours. People are busy and don't have time to take off work and dedicate a whole day to getting micros. They sit in your ear speaking French all day which is very annoying!! Then Nina moved to Arnold Street from her house and it got worse. I wanted cornrows for my daughter which they stated cost $50. I wanted the cornrows slanted to the side and they stated that would be $60. It was the exact same amount of cornrows but just slightly slanted. I stopped going completely after that. There are so many braiders everywhere now that braid your hair faster and treat you better. I refuse to beat out of my money from anyone. I know so many people who stopped going to Nina. She should see that she really fell off and try to figure out why. She's very arrogant so she probably doesn't even realize that her faithful customers are long gone. I don't mind paying for my hair so I don't have to deal with poor customer service!!
Nina akou is the best braiding shop in greensboro. I've been to alot of hair salons and most of them are dirty and have rude employees. At nina's they have the CLEANEST bathrooms and the shop its self is extremely clean. I love the way that they ask me every few mins. if im okay and if i need anything. They make you comfortable.
Also i loved the job. I payed 180.00 and got the best job ever !
I the braids were perfects!
it was small everywhere including the middle.
I recommend alot of family and friends to go over there...they also LOVED it.
Thank you Nina = )

The workers at Nina Akou's does great hair and have you leaving the shop looking good and feeling a little peeved. I received Kinky Twist and my experience was a horrible one. The person that I had coughed and sneezed, didn't use any hand sanitizer. Then when the owner joined the room it got very loud. They were laughing so loud that I could hear them over my Ipod. The lady laughed high pitched in my ear, clapped in my ear, and was leaning on my shoulder to laugh like we were buddies. I have never been to an African Hair Braider and it took them 8 hours to do Kinky Twists, If I would have known that it was going to take that long then I would have gotten Micro Braids. Well anyway at the end where they roll the ends of the hair the lady burned the back of my head and was upset because I wouldn't lean further into the boiling hot water. I told her no, because you are burning the back of my neck. Well anyway I spent 180 dollars in there an I am happy with my hair but not the experience. I would have rather went to dirty old Jainde Fatma on Thomasville Rd in Winston-Salem. That is the only reason that I didn't go there because of the appearence, so I drove all the way to Greensboro for an even worse day! To each it's own!
Nina's Hair Braiding is the best braiding shop in town. I have been getting my hair braided for over 10 years and each experience yields its rewards and it dissappointments, but the only dissappointment with Nina's shop is that I didn't try her before. Thanks Nina. I love my hair. God bless.
