I'm originally from Bronx, NY and have been in Greenboro for 12 years. I'm Dominican and Puerto Rican with a lot of long hair(used to be relaxed but now natural)and have struggled to find the right place for me to get my hair done in Greensboro, NC. Well the struggle & search is over!!! I went to Dominican Style on Randleman Rd and have finally found a salon home! Carmen quoted me $50 the day before for a wash/set/layered cut/round brush blow out/ flat iron and conditioner treatment included. Just to give you an idea of what I've been quoted before by others: $40 for roller set *only*-no blow out, nothing-just wash and set. :-/ Yeah-didn't get my hair done at that place. One time I was quoted $60 for wash/set cut and charged $70. Anyway, Carmen worked with delight on my hair! She's so sweet and her salon is an environment that I would feel comfortable bringing my girls to get their hair done-cannot say that about many places, unfortunately. Back to my experience-she worked so hard and joyfully on straightening and styling my hair and also gave me something to help a hair issue that * no one* has ever addressed after I've asked. At the end she asked me how much she quoted me the day before and I told her $50-no surprise at the register, no "well you had more hair and it took more work than expected..." That has happen to me more than once and even without explanation. :( Not fun! This salon far exceeded my expectations! So, if you're looking for a hair salon that's interested in keeping your hair healthy without being surprised at the register, in a family friendly environment-Dominican Style on Randleman Road is the place YOU need to go!! I would encourage you to at least give them a try. I don't think you'll regret it & in fact you might not only leave looking & feeling like a new person but you might leave with new friends! :)
Go see Pamela Cheek for color! I got my hair colored at regis salon of Greensboro four seasons mall and am so amazed I just have to write a review. Yes I can be picky but hello this is my hair.. You ladies know what I mean:) I walked in and upon arrival asked for a master colorist (yes I know my lingo lol) I was immediately referred by management to Pamela Cheek. I had to wait 3 days for my appointed as she was booked but it was well worth the wait! I am an ex Paul Mitchell rep and let me tell you if a stylist doesn't know color theory they can't fully understand your needs or even your chemistry. We talked a lot which I love but she didn't talk about herself until I would ask she was a listener which is so refreshing in a salon environment. She was respected by her colleagues which became apparent as they came to her for advice several times and I didn't mind at all it felt good to be with the best! Thank you regis for making a award winning master stylist available at the same price as newbies ! FYI you pay 30% more at most salons for someone who is this qualified as a master colorist! Thank you Pam I will recommend you to everyone !
I've been to nail shops, beauty salons, even barber shops none can compare to the precise, clean, fresh look of your brows at the brow lounge. There are I believe 3 women working there I've only experienced Channel. You don't have the "surprised" brow look, or pencil thin crayon look when you are done. No more over plucked overly arched brows. It's a very natural, beauty kinda look. I needed a repair due to a previous stylist over waxing my brows making me look like Ronald McDonald. Channel carefully shaped the brows around the mistake area giving the hair time to return; meanwhile it was filled in to appear full in the missing hair area. I have and will continue to recommend anyone, especially the many of "Ronald McDonald" women I see walking around. It opens your face and gives brightness to your appearance. They also do bikini wax, full & partial eye lashes, lip wax, and a list of many more.
