I am all for giving second chances because hey who does everything right the first time around… I mean we are humans and we ALL make mistakes right? In life you learn that it doesn’t matter how you make the mistake, it’s what you do to fix it and more importantly that you learn to never make that same type of mistake twice. With that being said… Cinco Mexican Cantina has definitely learned that lesson 100 folds over! The first time I went to Cinco my experience was not so pleasant, and I did voice my opinion not expecting anything in return but WOW! Did that establishment prove me wrong! It all started when the CEO of FIVE Restaurant Group (owner of the Cinco Mexican Cantina restaurants) called me personally (yes little ol’ me) to apologize about my experience and invited me and my 30 guests back to the restaurant for dinner. When we arrived for the dinner party the customer service was outstanding! Our waiters- Tony and Levon treated us with 5-star service. Levon reviewed and explain in full detail about each item on the menu, I was totally impressed! Not only was I impressed but my guests were so happy. One guests said I feel like I am on the Food Network because the wait staff was there for our every need! How could I forget the food… very very very good! My food was excellent; I had the grilled salmon with a jalapeño potato cake and asparagus. This dinner was really for my guests because had it been just for me I would have never complained about the first dining experience, but my guests came to support me and I wanted to make sure they were happy and they were more than satisfied with our Re-do dinner yesterday! I learned a very important lesson- why not give a second chance? You never know, the second chance might be a lasting impression. I will remember Cinco Mexican Cantina as a restaurant with great service, suberb food, cool atmosphere and amazing customer service! You should definitely try it out; I promise you will not be disappointed. Muy Muy Bueno!
This place was recommended to me by one of my friends because it is her favorite restaurant! PURE serves free chips and salsa (yay!) which is always a great way to start a meal. My friend and I love cheese so we ordered the Queso Gringo ($5.99) which “is a traditional mexican cheese dip served with pickled jalapeños”. We mixed the jalapeños into the cheese and it made for an awesome spicy dip- I definitely recommend it! “Taquitos de Pollo”- I loved how crunchy these were and how the ingredients definitely seemed high quality. For my sides, I also got Mexican chorizo rice and charro beans. This restaurant is spacious and has a parking lot for easy parking! My friend and I went on a Sunday night and there wasn’t a wait! We sat outside where there was a cute little patio! i definitely recommend going to PURE Tacqueria for a meal! I think the food could be compared to something you’d find at La Fonda or Tacqueria del Sol but it was still delicious and filling!
Guaco Joes took over the southwest style La Paz restaurant about a year or so ago, and I was glad to see they kept a lot of fan favorites on the menu, such as the “Chicken and Spinach Suiza Enchilada” and often hard to find calabacita veggie dish. They have a good margarita menu—lots of choices as well non-alcoholic Agua Frescas (fruity mocktails). Guaco Joes is great for families—the kids menu comes as a coloring book (not just 1 page) so your kids can stay occupied and Ipad-free for the whole meal. Additionally, the kids meals have a nice variety of kid-friendly Mexican favorites, so you can easily sway the little ones away from the ubiquitous chicken nuggets. (They also come with healthy side dishes.) We love Guaco Joes-it’s great for evening family dinners or date night with your significant other.
