Not an MVP Experience

I end up eating here once a year for business. Most of the time there is very little guests in the dining room. That should tell you something right there. While the decor is nice, the food is simply not good for the amount of money they charge. I dread going there before and regret that I went after. Pretty cool bar area if you want to just sip a few beers. Otherwise, find another place to eat.

Less than expected

We've been to Brett Favre's Steakhouse several times. Overall the food was good as was the service. However, we do not consider the food a good value. We prefer other restaurants in the area.

Brett's Steakhouse needs better oversight

My son and I ate here three times this weekend (lunch, tailgate brunch, dinner). We love Brett and the Packers.\r
\r
The food: The steaks are USDA Choice. Nothing special. I can get better meat at the local Costco. The seafood (we had a trout entre, oysters appetizer and crawfish sandwich) was dry, not fresh and juicy. The crawfish po' boy was pretty tasteless. How can Cajun food be tasteless?!!! Luckily, the jambalaya was terrific. Ribs were the boiled-first, falling-off-the-bone st
...view moreyle (OK by me), but the sauce was cloyingly sweet, artificially smoked and glopped on heavily.\r
\r
The wine list: A wine that I bought locally for $10 (Ercavio) was $70 at the restaurant. In fairness, Ercavio does have a more expensive wine, but the wine list gives no details, no year; I couldn't tell which Ercavio the Steakhouse actually had. Some wines were priced reasonably (at a little over twice retail), but many wines seemed to be priced irrationally. A Louis Martini cab, normally $13 or $17 at retail (Martini has two), was on the wine list for $50 -- and it was $13.50 for a glass! Another wine that was $48 for the bottle was only $7.75 for the glass. What numbskull at the Steakhouse is pricing these wines?\r
\r
The staff: I asked one waitress what wines were particularly popular. (I wanted to order by the glass and try a few, but I didn't want to get one that had been opened and sitting around for a few days.) She had no clue. When I pressed her, she named a wine that was not on the wine list. \r
\r
All of the waiters and waitresses seemed to speak by rote. The daily specials and the ""meat tray"" are explained in a style I associate with third graders giving a show-and-tell.\r
\r
I ordered a rainbow trout special and asked the waitress exactly how the fish was cooked. ""With herb butter"" was all the detail I could get out of her. It came covered in bread crumbs and completely dried out.

Stick to football

When we walked in, we didn't understand the nearly empty parking lot because the atmosphere and decor were outstanding. Then things took a turn for the worse. The server was inattentive and unknowledgeable. The food we ordered was not prepared the way we ordered it. (Don't you think a "steakhouse" would know how to prepare a steak medium-rare?) My husband and I are good restaurant patrons; we are well-groomed and polite, we tip well and we rarely complain. We were so d...view moreisappointed with this place, it was almost beyond our comprehension. After speaking to friends of ours, we found out that they also had had a bad experience. Too bad we didn't talk to them before being fleeced of our $120 tab for two. Want a good steak? Go to Texas Roadhouse.view less
