        Our business started in 1988 as a chimney sweep service in Grass Valley, CA, founded and operated by Hubert and his wife Wilma. Later we added a retail store front and an internet sales website selling fireplaces, stoves, parts and accessories all over North America. In 2011 we decided to expand into Chico, when we found out that there was a need for a dedicated and service oriented hearth products store offering a large range of high quality fireplace products.

        Overall

        We purchased a used propane fireplace on Craig's List a year ago which I would never do again. We have learned the hard way to not cut corners and do it right the first time. After having the stove installed improperly by someone who didn't know what they were doing, we called A-1 Stoves to take care of the disaster. Dave was kind enough to come out several times to re-install the stove and fix other problems that arise when you purchase something used. A year later, we needed a new remote and more repairs done. Again, Dave came and installed the remote and later, Frank came out to finally get the fireplace in perfect working order. In all, A-1 was very professional and always friendly.

        Overall

        Frank did a fabulous job. He repaired a propane heater that another company could not fix. The other company told us our only option was to replace the heater. We should have called A-1 first! We definitely call A-1 next time
