This place is fine if you have terrible credit (which I do because of massive amounts of student loans; my D/I ratio is terrible), but you have to be careful! Make sure you're reading the fine print, and don't let them talk you into anything you don't want! They automatically sign you up for the extended warranty, so if you don't want it, make it known throughout the process, and be prepared to walk away if they won't take it off...no matter what they say, you DO NOT have to take it. If you tell them you don't have any money down, they'll try to get you to sign a promissary note for a down payment at a later date. I did not sign mine. Get everything you need for your vehicle before you leave the lot. I was assured I would receive a 2nd key, and I still haven't. I also called because my temporary license plate expired and they basically told me I was S.O.L, and that I had to wait on the state to send it. I spoke with their secretary and someone named Dennis (I think he might be the business manager) and he was very rude to me. I asked him when the information had been sent to the state because I doubted they would give you a two-week window if it wasn't enough time to process the paper work, and he refused to give me the date and said I was jumping to conclusions. He said they "might" have it by the end of the business day, other wise there was nothing he could do. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau if this becomes an ongoing problem. Overall, I give them 3 stars because they were able to get me financing. However, they have terrible follow-up customer service (and poor customer service in general), and their facility is a little scary to say the least (it's really small so if anyone blows up the bathroom you will smell it, and kind of seedy and dirty). If I had a friend that asked me about their service I would say, "If you can get financed through anywhere else, don't go to this place."
In July I purchased a 2004 Chevy Avalanche from Lakeland Car Co. Here is the story. I actually went to the dealership to look at a Chevy Tahoe that they had. I showed up right at the end of the day and they were going to be closing in about 30 minutes. I met with Kurt and checked out the Tahoe. As I was looking at it I happened to see the Avalanche. Kurt had just bought it at the auction. He hadn't even put it online yet. I checked it out and I loved it. I told him to sell the Tahoe to someone else because I was more interested in the Avalanche. He ended up holding onto the Avalanche for about a week while he attempted to find the best price for my car that I was trading in. Ultimately, I ended up selling my car to a private party on Craigslist the very same morning that I bought the Avalanche. I got a great deal on it and I was very happy with the price. Later I found 3 small issues with it. 1) the headlight was loose (broken bracket) 2) the oil pressure gauge stopped working and 3) there was a CD jambed in the CD player. Kurt resolved all three issues at no cost to me. Kurt worked hard at making this deal happen I can't thank him enough. My only constructive criticism to offer is that they could work on their communication a little better. Other than that they did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them!
We have purchase our fair share of vehicles in the last 10 years. We have purchased 4 from this location alone. Our 1st purchase in 2006 was a 2004 Aztek Rally, was OK at best for service. But the last 3, (2014 Acadia AWD, 2016 Encore, and 2016 Sierra) we had the pleasure of working with Jeff Minore. He is amazing. He cuts through the crap and won't waste your time. He is a stright shooter and will let you know if something has the ability to be in your price range. He goes above and beyond. This is why he has sold us the last 3 vehicles. He is a pleasure to work with. I believe that the sales department staff does not deseve a low star rating. I think they have done an amazing job turning their company around and reviews should cycle out as staff & management. If you're in the market for any GM product, give this Todd Wenzel a chance, especially Jeff. He even let us drive the demo he was using just to let us see what a V8 felt like because one wasn't on the lot! Keep up the good work.
i bought a 2007 Subaru Putback from Paris Motors a couple months back. The salesman were very professional and I am pleased with my experience. I noticed a few small problems after I bought the car. I spoke with some of the guys at Paris and they got my car in and out and fixed the issues at no cost. A few weeks later, my check engine light came on and it was reading a P0420 code. I brought the car in to a muffler shop and they said that my catalytic converter was bad and they quoted me at 650 to repair it. After having a sour taste in my mouth because my warranty had expired, I contacted Dave, the owner. He seemed to be really personable and pledged to fix the car (even if it's out of his own pocket) whenever im able to drive it back to MI from North Carolina. I am really pleased with the way they have done business with me and I believe they do honest work. I would recommend doing business with Paris.
We found our 2002 Honda Civic from Auto Trader which directed us to Paris. We traveled from Kalamazoo and were pleased with their extended hours to allow us to travel from out of town during the week to check things out. The price on the vehicle was fair to blue book and we found the sales staff friendly. On some of my concerns regarding repairs before buying, the salesman was willing to take care of my concerns at "cost" saving us money on things that I knew I had to eventually address. Not too many car salesmen will take this approach and I found it to be refreshing. I feel that the people at Paris were more concerned about setting up a repeat buyer relationship with us than anything else. All in all we had a pleasant experience from buying a car from Paris and would recommend it to others.
Are you looking to get you a used car to buy that is reasonably priced, drives well and also where customer service is excellent? Look nowhere else but Auto Sport Inc. in Gran Rapid (Wyoming) MI. I just got a car (02' Toyota Avalon) from them and I am a very satisfied customer. Mr. Albert Smith was awesome from scratch. He got all my questions/doubts answered very well. Helped to get the car financed and I was driving the next day. On top of it all, when I went back to them for the car to be checked because I thought there was an issue, the owner (Mr. Emir) took the time to ride with me to see what the problem was. He asked his mechanic to check out the car for me and all my issues got fixed. My affordable used 02' Avalon is driving like new. Thanks guys and please keep up the good work. Samuel.
I went to Auto Sport after I saw one of their ads on Craigslist. The sales consultant, Albert, was courteous and forthcoming and answered all my questions honestly and thoroughly. The owner of the facility, Amir, was equally attentive and I found him to be very trustworthy as well. He even allowed me to keep the car for an entire day so I could get it checked out by an independent shop of my choice. The price was very fair and well below Kelley Blue Book. They even offered a very generous amount for my trade, which I certainly appreciated. If you're in the market for a used Audi, VW, BMW or any other Euro import and you're looking for a low-pressure experience and reputable, honest people to do business with, the selection and service of Auto Sport Inc in Grand Rapids is the place to go!

Now this is how car buying is suppose to be! Hilda did an exceptional job at helping me decern the differences between two models I really were interested in. She took the time to learn about our family and what would make an ideal vehicle for us. After working with many used car dealerships, Value Cars Inc. takes the cake in how a customer should be treated. What I found most amazing is how easy going, and not pushy Hilda and her sales staff were. She explained all the available financing options and was able to pull a few strings to put us in the best position. The result: my family and I have a great vehicle we believe in at an affordable price we can live with.
I personally can attest to the fact the fact that everyone who works at Lakeland Car Company is knowledge and friendly too. The personalized touch given from the day I stopped in, to the time of actual purchase of my vehicle was superb. They know their cars and what to do in time of repair work. I highly recommend that you please consider them as your choice in finding your next vehicle. I also know that when it comes time for another ride, that I'll be going back. I think that the pricing is fair and affordable. They can match any dealership with quality service, and that goes a long ways in saying that these guys can be trusted to deliver!
