I had an excellent experience at Ninh's Alterations, Northland Drive. Brought in 2 sets of curtains to shorten and hem on a Thursday right before close. The materials was a sheer polyester (100%) on one, and more heavyweight silk/poly blend on the other. Very tricky to work with and I didn't trust my sewing skills for the job. The Ninh's turned out perfectly sewn drapes within one business day, even steaming out the wrinkles from the store packaging. Their customer service went beyond professional; they were so friendly and sought clarification to understand exactly what I wanted. The curtains were sewn to match the original hem line (a double hem in the case of the sheer). They turned out much better than the original! I thought the pricing was very fair, especially given the material. There is no doubt that I will return for my next alteration. I also found out that the Ninh's have been sewing in GR for over 20 years. It's really important to me that I can support a local small business owner with a great reputation who is also so committed to our community.
And Sew On is an unbelievably great shop when it comes to alterations. My husband and I brought in a military jacket and dress, and the service was impeccable. My dress was too small, but And Sew On did a great job to adjust the size of the dress necessary to fit me. Also, the employees there neatly patched my husband's military jacket. In general, this business is honest, cheap, and the service is great. I would definitely recommend And Sew On business to anyone who needs clothes alternations.
I took a suit jacket to be altered there and wow I was impressed! I was originally charged $35 for the alterations, which was about what I expected. Only to get a call 15 minutes later telling me that it will only cost $25 and I will get 10 dollars back when I pick up the jacket. Unbelievably honest! I just picked it up and it looks and fits great. Definitely will return in the future.
