Located in Grand Prairie, Texas, the Support Services division is one of the divisions operated by Grand Prairie Police Department. It provides assistance to other sections of the police department and maintains a communication center to handle fire and other medical emergency calls. The Support Services division also maintains a detention facility equipped with advanced video surveillance equipment. Grand Prairie Police Department has more than 20 sworn officers and over 180 civilian officers who serve nearly 145,000 citizens. Its criminal investigation division handles approximately 7,000 crime cases annually and operates narcotics, crime suppression and victim assistance units. Grand Prairie Police Department also operates home security and personal safety programs.
