My wife and I are fan of Talia’s and we love Talia’s very diversified menu. There is something for everyone on their menus. It's definitely more of American and Middle Eastern cuisines; but they also have terrific salads. My wife loves The Thai beef salad and I love thee Moroccan salmon. If you crave fish, this is the place. You can get a hearty, firm-flesh fish, grilled, sautéed or broiled salmon with two sides and… appetizer for $28. Good prices, portions and wonderful food. I will definitely visit Talia’s more than twice next week to enjoy the nine days menu which contains more than five types of fish. Talia’s 9 days menu last year was one of best nine days menu in kosher restaurant in Manhattan. The service is professional but sometimes you have to wait about half an hour for your main dish and therefore my wife and I start with an appetizer of Middle Eastern platter combo platter - regular hot dog, 1 spicy hot dog, 2 chicken fingers, Moroccan cigar and kibbeh with tahini sauce. The ambiance is very romantic, warm and cozy outdoor and indoor dining areas. Highly recommended!
I have been a tenant in two Brusco buildings since 1983 and have always found the Brusco’s to be fair, compromising and very generous, especially to me when things got a bit tough…letting me go three months rent in arrears… making repairs quickly even though I owed them money and even renting to friends of mine who may have not have had all the necessary requirements needed to lease an apartment in this city. By definition, to many folks, landlords are the enemy. And I say, they most assuredly are not! Just as a good director needs good actors to tell his story… good landlords need good tenants to stay in business and you don’t have the kind of Brusco longevity in the real estate business without treating those good tenants fairly and squarely. And they have been doing it for over 50 years… that in and of itself should say something much louder than whatever drivel some cowards choose to write on a social media blog.
Celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Talia’s Steakhouse last night. We live in Central Jersey so we don’t travel too often for kosher restaurants in Manhattan. Our expectations were set high for a night in the city. Suffice to say, Talia’s exceeded our expectations. There was live music and we got to sit in their sidewalk café and enjoy the beautiful weather. We all shared the Fry Trio basket to start, which was a great choice. My prime rib was excellent. My wife and daughter loved their Veal Scaloppini. Our 6 year old couldn’t get enough of his chicken fingers. For dessert, the wait staff brought out warm chocolate soufflé with a birthday candle and sang Happy Birthday with help from the live musician. It was a perfect way to end the night. Would definitely be back again.
