Living on Cape Ann has its pluses but also some minuses one of which is the lack of restaurants that deliver. Luckily Valentino's, in Gloucester, is a reliable pizza devliery that you can put on your speed dial. Getting it delivered to your home beats the eating-in experience (was never really impressed by their service or ambiance). I only get one type of pizza here & for that alone (plus delivery) I'd give it a 4-star rating: the large cheese with Sausage, Artichoke, and Eggplant topping. The combination of all the above is a trifecta of yumminess with their eggplant thinly sliced and lightly breaded, the artichokes roasted and not out of a can or jar and the sausage good & sweet. I would recommend getting the large as the small and medium sizes tended to have a thicker crust and for some reason it seems to get soggier the smaller it is, laden with all the toppings I just mentioned.
We were the only one's in the restaurant when we entered. Took forever (20 minutes for a Ceasar slad with grilled chix and a Greek salad). My friends Greek Salad was delivered with no Feta and the olives were green. Waitress never came back. When my girlfriend tracked her down in the next room she replied, "Oh yah, we ran out...he's gone to get some". After we finished our meal we grabbed her as she was going to wait on another party and explained that we didn't think we should pay for a Greek salad when we really got a garden salad. She said, "I'll find out", and disappeared. After 10 minutes I went to the take out window and asked to speak to the manager. My friend was walking behind me when the waitress bumped into her and exclaimed, "Oh yeah, I forgot to get your change". My friend let her know that we hadn't paid yet. The cook assured me he would have the waitress change our bill. We sat back down at our table and waited another 10 minutes. We got up and returned to the take out window. The same cook informed us that the manager was gone somewhere and he should be back in a while. We told him we were not going to wait any longer. He said, "What's the difference?", and opened the register and handed me $3. My girlfriend opened her mouth and I shot her a look that said, "Shut up". I told the cook, "That'll do it", and we left. Esentially, they paid US to eat there. Was it worth? HELL NO. On our way out we told a group going in not to eat there because the service sucked. They said they had read a review somewhere stating the same and turn away.
