I've only been to Granville Cafe twice, and both times it was with large groups of 10 or more. Each time, the service was stellar, in spite of the large size of our group. I love the food here. You'd think a pastrami sandwich (what I enjoyed on my first visit) or a rib eye steak sandwich (sans bleu cheese, enjoyed on today's visit) would be heavy and greasy, but not at all. I find their sandwiches to be light and hearty, and the homemade chips served on the side are delicious, too. I highly recommend the berry lemonade, or the fruit infused water. Both drinks are quite tasty. The lemonade is not refillable, and at about $3.50 a glass, a bit pricey. However if others in your party order it, you can get a pitcher for about $9 and split the cost. I've heard from others who have visited Granville in smaller groups that the service is just as stellar, so I'm pretty confident in recommending this place to anyone who may find themselves in the Glendale area and looking for a good place to eat.
More than once, I've had to override my craving for the luscious coffee brews concocted by this place because I couldn't park anywhere near it, or even slow down to seek parking because of traffic. The staff at this Starbucks location are skilled, friendly, and efficient. I've never been disappointed by a frappucino or a bag of beans purchased there. However, it can be impossible to patronize this establishment because of the lack of parking and its proximity to raging traffic. Furthermore, when forced outside because of the lack of indoor seating, one often must contend with hordes of smokers as well as auto exhaust fumes, limiting one's enjoyment of one's beverage. I love having a Starbucks in the neighborhood. I just hope they move this one to a larger, more accessible venue.
Let's start here: Food: Amazing! I've not ever had a dish that I wouldn't order again. Service: Stellar! My first visit, I got rock star treatment from Eric, the manager. Every experience since has been equally awesome. Location: Nice! Just outside the main driveway to the the Americana. Parking is easy. Recommendations: You must try the Uptown Mac & Cheese. Your kids might turn their noses as the asparagus and snap peas... but as an adult they are divine additions. The chicken and basil sprig round out the dish. Try the sweet potato fries for an appetizer... and the berry shortcake for dessert. Yum!
