Comprehensive Examination
Any time anesthesia or surgical procedures are done there is always a risk, but the overall incidence of complications is very low. Spaying and neutering are major surgical procedures but they are the most common surgery performed by veterinarians all over the world everyday! This is why we do a thorough physical exam prior to surgery. Keep in mind there is always the unexpected things that come up. We do everything in our power to give your pet a smooth and safe procedure.

Feline Retro Virus Treatment
Prices for cat surgeries are fixed regardless of weight for spays or neuters. There may be additional fees for cats that are pregnant, in heat or cryptorchid. All cats are required to be tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. This is for the protection of all cats in the clinic that day.
Anal Gland Infection Treatment

Wound and Fracture Care
I understand these diseases are spread by direct contact usually via bite wounds or mutual grooming, bodily secretions, and fluids, including blood, mother’s milk, urine, feces and in very high quantities in saliva and nasal secretions.

Veterinary Surgery
Your pet has undergone a major surgery and anesthesia. Due to the anesthesia your pet may act different or confused and may be sleepy. This can take 24-48 hours to resolve.
Laser Surgery
We prefer cats be 8 weeks to 1 year for declaws. We really don’t like doing older or obese cats. It is a much more difficult surgery and recovery time for them. Generally, we recommend older or obese cats are declawed at one of the wonderful veterinary clinics in our area that offer laser surgery. Again if medically necessary or human or the pet, we will consider it on a case by case basis.
Declawing
Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic offers declawing. We only do front paw declaws. We do offer four paw declaws, however we require a medical excuse from a human medical doctor for people who have medical reasons their cat must be declawed.

Laboratory Services
Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic offers routine dental cleaning and minor extractions. Please call and make an appointment to have us examine your pet for a dental quote. Without seeing your pet, it is impossible for us to give you a dental quote. Older pets require pre-surgical blood work PRIOR to surgery.

Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic not only provides an affordable spaying and neutering option, but also offers affordable vaccinations, micro-chipping, heartworm testing, and heartworm preventative medicine both topical, oral and 6 month injections, flea/tick treatment and prevention, feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus testing, toe nails trims, anal gland expression, and nutritional supplements.
