Petland

This is the worst place by far to get a pet. I have been wanting a Jack Russell Terrier quite sometime. And like most things that interest me, i read up about it and do my homework on the subject. I had not read nor was i aware of the things that go on here at Petland. If I had i would HAVE NEVER set foot in that place. Well in walked me and my gf after she had called to see if they had a JRT, and they did...good looking little female all white, adorable...I have seen prices for all kinds of Jacks's, the most i had seen ANYONE ask for a JRT was no more than $600 and that was for the best of the best and if you were planning on it being a showdog. Would you believe Petland was asking $1200 for this dog? We should have just gotten up and left then, but we didnt. And then thats where the shadyness began...the guy helping us was named Nick, he couldnt have been anymore obvious that he received some sort of commision for selling this dog. I almost forgot we were even talking about a dog, warrantys and financing...it was insane ! When I told Nick that I had not seen ANY JRT priced anywhere near what they were asking,can you believe he had the audacity to tell me that i didnt want to go to a breeder because breeders sometimes mix up the dogs their breeding and it was a good way to get an inbred dog ? Needless to say this guy was a little pushy, we left. Since our experience was soo weird and creepy I immediatley began to do some searches about Petland...and there it was story after heartbreaking story all the same...PPl are paying 3 to 4 times more than what they should @ petland..PETLAND USES PUPPY MILLS AND GIVES YOU PUPPY MILL DOGS THAT APPEAR FINE AND NORMAL TILL YOU TAKE THEM TO YOUR DR, AND THEN THE SHADY A$$ CONTRACT THEY GET YOU TO SIGN SPECIFICALLY SAYS THEIR DR HAS THE FINAL WORD AND THEIR DR'S OBVIOUSLY ARE GOING TO SIDE WITH PETSLAND THESE ARE BAD PPL STAY AWAY !!

This is not a good place to purchase a pet from! My mom purchased a puppy from there and she had such a bad case of Kennal Cough the poor thing had to have breathing treatments 3-4 times a day for a little over a week!!! The catch is, if you want Pet Land to help with the vet bills you MUSt take the animal to their vet. Who by the way is in Cedar Park. so if your like us, you ahve to drop off the puppy every moroning and pick it up every night. For someone who is working that may be a little tricky!.

When we sidned the paper to purchase the puppy, the handed her over with some meds. When we asked if she was sick the ppl told us she just had a runny nose but that her kennal mate was a little sick so this was just to prevent her from getting it. Then they told us to take her to the vet 1st thing to get her checked out. Once at the vet (in Cedar Park) and they told us how bad off she was our first thought was to call Pet Land and tell them because of how fast Kennal Cough spreads. The exact quote from the vet " Oh, they know how sick the dogs are'" so then when we called about getting a refund the mngr. was horrible!!!! Said he would refund a small percentage of the puppy but not the full amount. He then went on to tell us how bad we were because " I suppose if you had a baby and the Doc. told you it was sick, then you just wouldn't want it anymore right!?" Yes that is what he said!!!!

Thankfully the puppy is now doing good but it took a long time and money to get her that way! I would not recomend getting a puppy from this place!!
