My Best Friends Animal Hospital

I've been to many vets over the years, Dr. Susan Rew is by far the best veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her staff is professional but more so than my recommendation my dog Bella gets excited when we get there, she has spent overnights there at times and that to me speaks volumes about the way she is cared for, at My Best Friends you and your pets are treated like family. Gone are the days where bills are run up just for the sake of cash, her main concern is your pets well being. I can't recommend them enough. You won't be disappointed if you bring your pets here.

2020 - People usually leave a review when they are not happy, rightly or not rightly, with the service. But when we are happy with the service, we take it for granted and don't bother to spend a few minutes to acknowledge it.

So here I am to give credit where credit is due. My sweet boy, Oliver (an 10 yr old Cavalier King Charles) LOVES Dr. Rew. I know it because he licks her hands and her face every time he sees her, and she lets him do it... hahaha... I guess the love is shared.

Dr. Rew has been taking care of Oliver for 7+ years and I consider myself very lucky to have found her office. Besides the fact that she is a very good doctor (she was right on spot with every health incident over the years), she has a compassionate genuine good-hearted soul. You can see it in her eyes. Definitely not greedy! Definitely loves animals!

Yesterday, I took Oliver for his periodical anal glands cleaning (Oli has a history of anal glands infection). Even though it was not and I paid not for a physical exam, Dr. Rue noticed Oliver had the two front ankle nails - I forget what you call those nails - grow and turn inside his paws. Of course she took care of this. Not big deal, some would say... but I think it is a big deal to notice problems when the animal is there for a completely different issue! Thank you, Dr. Rew... we love you!

2021 - We are not allowed to leave multiple reviews for the same business, so I will do an update...
Last Friday, a technician did a poor job at trimming my boy's nails - Oliver. He is 11 years old, with a long history of seizures, and very sensitive. And he is also very strong and reacts wildly at nail trimming, so it's really tricky to handle him. So, I made an appointment with Dr. Rew, which was today. I am amazed how she does it, but Oliver came out just perfect! All nails nicely trimmed, no hurting legs and no limping, like what happened last Friday. Thank you, Dr Rew! We are with you for 8+ years, but you still amaze us how skilled and good with animals you are!

Dr. Rue and her staff are by far some of the most compassionate and caring individuals in their field. My dog Sandy was cared for by this group during a very difficult time. Unfortunately we could not save her life, They did everything possible. When it came to the end of life for Sandy, We could not have asked for a more compassionate and caring group. They respected our time with her and went out of their way to make sure we were ok.

Dr. Rew and her staff are wonderful! I moved into the area and needed to find a vet to take my cats too. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet! They are very caring and accomodating to anyone! One of my cats got ill and they were right on top of everything and kept me up to date with what was going on.

Plus their office is always clean!!

Just started going here. The practice is super reliable and wonderful with the pets. I do not feel like I am being asked to do every little test for no reason except to fatten someone's pockets. I really love our experience here.

They helped me a lot. I just got a kitten and I wasn't sure what to do, but they answered all of my questions and when I asked about her constant itch, they went back and checked her again for me. Very nice people and not over priced at all...well, except maybe too much for spay/neuter, but hey, isn't it always going to be with pets?

I didn't know where to start looking for a vet so I turned to online search and My Best Friends was first on the list. Thankfully the reviews were so helpful. Love this vet.

I followed Dr. Rew from her previous practice b/c I was so impressed by my first interaction with her. My first encounter she got on the floor with my dogs. She also saw I was pregnant and had a toddler in tow, she made sure she did not try to overcharge me b/c she knew my dogs were elderly and I was starting my human family. She cared for all of my dogs and cat. Dr. Rew even came to my house to help send them to doggie heaven. She made the transistion so much easier for all of us. She also brought my dog to my door after he needed an x-ray b/c she new it would be easier for me being a new mom. Her partner June is also amazing and so compassionate. They have gone above and beyond to help our pets. So far they have worked with 4 of our pets. We cannot wait to introduce our new addition. I told them she is not very friendly with other pets and they had no problem accomodating me. I have seen various vets in south jersey and have not been impressed until I met Dr. Rew. She truly is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This letter is long overdue. We are writing to assist anyone who might be contemplating changing the Veterinary services they are now using or who are just looking for their first doctor.



Dr. Susan A. Rew is far and away the most gifted Veterinarian we have come across.

have needed the services of a Veterinarian for over 25 years which included doctors in New York, Pennsylvania and now here in New Jersey. Dr. Rew is gifted, in our opinion, not only because of the outstanding level of technical skill she has displayed but because that skill is coupled with a superior level of compassion and understanding.



We have always liked having a Veterinarian who is on their own and not part of a large animal hospital where the animal, and sometimes even the owner, is treated just like another number. Dr. Rew is always patient and helpful especially when we have questions, and has gone out of her way to make us AND our dog comfortable. We wanted the DVM we chose for our precious little dog to be someone who would actually get to know her personality along with everything else. The personality of an animal can also be an important component in treating an animal.



We were very happy when Dr. Rew moved her office to 120 E. Jimmie Leeds Rd,

Galloway, NJ. Out of necessity, we were stuck with a Veterinarian we were not pleased with and when Dr. Rew came nearby, we made an appointment to “interview” her with the hope that she would be someone we would feel comfortable bringing our precious dog to for routine shots, etc. Dr. Rew was fabulous that first day and is fabulous now!!! Regardless of the news, be it positive or negative, Dr. Rew delivers it in a gentle, even keeled, straight- forward manner. She continues to stun us with her professionalism, her talent and yes, again, her compassion. We wanted our dog’s doctor to get to know her over the years and that happened in a big way. Unfortunately, our little sweetheart became very sick, very quickly. Although upset with her illness, we took comfort knowing she was in extremely gifted hands with Dr. Rew who, through her skill, perseverance and dedication, pulled her out of an abyss so deep we feared she might not return and brought her to the very stable position she is in right now.



About the Staff and Assistants: We cannot use the word “compassion” enough. You can’t teach it, you have it or you don’t. They ALL have it, they ALL show it, they ALL give it! You will not find a Veterinary office that can surpass the combination of exceptional individuals caring for your precious furry family member than that which exists at My Best Friends Veterinary Hospital.

What a great Veterinary Hospital! They're great with my pets and their prices are great! They work to save you money even beyond that (for example: they just saw my new kitten for his initial check up, when he goes back for his next round of shots they don't charge an office visit, my kitten has coccidia (a parasite) and gave it to the cat I already have, they saved me LOTS of money on the diagnosis and treatment of my cat and told me when they recheck in 3 weeks I can bring in a sample that is a mixture from both cats and they'll run it in one test instead of charging me for 2 seperate tests.). I am all to familiar with how quickly you can rack up a big vet bill. It's great to have found a vet that puts effort into keeping my expense low. I've been using them for 2 days and they've already saved me $170!
