Best Friends Pet Care

Do NOT board your dog at Best Friends Pet Hotel. Not only does the facility stink as soon as you enter it, but our dog developed a severe staph infection immediately after boarding that required intensive treatment for the last three months. We notified BFPH of the wounds on her paws 1 hour after leaving and even sent them photos but, despite the prompt notification, they are claiming that the staph infection wasn't acquired at their facility and that they aren't responsible for our dog's almost 3 months of vet visits and medications. We purchased the insurance they offer to cover any issues but, even with that, they won't accept responsibility for our almost $5,000 worth of expenses. Their reason: our dog has allergies and we didn't go to the vet until four days after boarding (we didn't realize how severe the infection was unfortunately until her paws started bleeding). Their facility is not clean and not worth the risk to your pet.

Our puppy, Levi, absolutely loves Best Friends in Gaithersburg! He gets so excited as soon as we get into the parking lot. He has a lot of energy and can be a lot to handle, but the staff at Best Friends loves him and cares for him and his energy. I will never take him anywhere else!

NEGATIVE RATING! DOG ABUSER'S AT GAITHERSBURG LOCATION! I put my dog in the daycare and saw him on the camera. However when I arrived to work, I checked the camera and he wasn't there so I called them and they said they took my lab out of daycare because he seemed scared and then when they tried to put him back into daycare he tried to bit them. WHY did they take him out in the first place!?? LIARS! He looked fine when I put him there! This was very strange and the story didn't add up because my lab is so sweet and has never nipped at anyone. He lives with a 1 and 3 year old and is extremely sweet. So I left work early to pick him up because the story sounded weird. When I arrived they seemed nervous and brought my dog out of a kennel. My lab was soaking wet and all of his nails were cut and BLEEDING! I had an appointment to get his nails cut at the vet the very next day and I asked them why they cut my dogs nails so short without my permission and why he was taken out of daycare in the first place. They had nothing to say. They abused my dog, cut his nails way too short and they were BLEEDING! Watch the CAMERA! They spray your dog with water, don't take them outside, so they learn to pee inside and KICK dogs! JUST WATCH the video! AWFUL ABUSIVE PLACE! They have no right to touch my dog without my consent or cut his nails without asking me and who cuts nails this short?! I'm disgusted by this place.
