I have eaten there twice. I had grilled chicken and it was good. My husband had country steak and gravy and chicken fingers. My side salad was good but the baked potato was underdone. The side of green beans was canned and nothing special and very small. The mashed potatoes...more were instant. They need to bring out some kind of rolls or bread. We askef for bread with the meal and were given a half sub roll turned into garlic bread. Later on our bill we saw that we were charged $2 for it. The servers. we have had have been nice. If they are going to stay in business and compete with Fatz, Clock, Sagebrush, Cracker Barrel, etc. they need to make some changes starting with bringing out a basket of some good rolls! view less
David, i highly doubt that that is exactly how it happened. Carolina Cafe has a lot of business on fridays and saturdays, which is probably the day that you went when this experience happened. It was not smart on your part to take a large party into Carolina Cafe on a weeken...mored and expect less than an hour or two wait. It is a first come, first serve policy for the "party room" so if you had a big party then you should have arrived there at four when they opened with everyone in your party present. The only reason that the hosts even ask if a party wants to split up is if the customer is complaining about waiting so they try to seat you faster, by putting people at smaller tables. Stop being ignorant.view less
This is a superb restaurant with great service and a fantastic menu of regional favorites. They really have a winning recipe for everything (except the tea). The tea definitely needs some work, but everything is otherwise great.
