I have been going to Southeastern Pain Management for 4 years now and have always been pleased. Dr. Murrata is very kind and friendly as is his staff. In response to the Needle happy review, all I can say is this: If you need spinal blocks for control of your pain, the block only works for so long. It is not a miracle cure but it helps me tremendously. You usually need more than one. You can also request physical therapy if you want. I have never had any problem with referals. The doctor does review your x-rays, MRI's and tests. When you go for the procedure you can always ask him a question. He always answers my questions. Plus, at this office, you are lightly sedated for the procedure and you don't feel a thing AND they use a florascope(a type of x-ray) to precisely inject the medicine into the spine. A friend of mine had a spinal block done elsewhere where she was not sedated and she passed out from the pain. As for the numerous PA visits, you do go every 2-3 months if you are on pain medication. It is a controlled substance and needs to be monitored. It is your health care and you have to be proactive. YOU have to voice your opinions and questions. People can not read minds. Make a list of questions before seeing a doctor and make sure that they are answered. If you don't understand something you have to let them know you don't understand.
I have had over 20 back surgeries, permanent nerve damage in my leg, every organ except my heart & lungs knocked loose from my body, and many other sports injuries over the years. Dr. Connor is the ONLY doctor that has ever taken the time with me to truly help me become a productive member of society while under her care. She is not in her business for the money, but is in it because she loves her patients and helping them all to live better lives. She is the only pain management doctor I would ever recommend to my family & friends.
