Wedding planning and Groom don’t typically go together. In my case, I was in charge of the reception planning by choice. As I met with numerous vendors, I was met with skepticism, dismissal, and the ubiquitous “Where is the bride”. From the first day I met with Lee, the interaction was completely different and I knew instantly Iron Hen was going to be my caterer. Working with Lee and her staff was great! They bent over backwards to accommodate all of my particular needs, desires, and dreams while helping to direct me when needed. Lee was nothing but open and honest in all facets of the process. Lee was gracious in working to develop a menu and reception that not only fit my vision but also my budget. As a frequent customer, I was used to the fun and friendly service that always comes with a smile. The day of the reception was no different. All of our guests commented on the delicious food and the great staff. Everyone felt bad for the two bartenders, who had to stand in the sun, but they didn’t stop serving with a smile and making sure everyone had what they needed. I was also accustomed to the high quality of food and fresh local ingredients. Creating that same plate from the restaurant in a catering setting is immensely difficult. The Iron Hen makes it seem effortless and natural for their food to be that good. Everyone has “hiccups” on the day of their wedding. Although we had our share, Lee made sure to smooth over as many as she could. When our linen order was not complete (unbeknownst to us), Lee made sure that the last table was covered with a linen. When our transportation away from the reception was not there, Lee personally called the hotel to arrange for transportation immediately. The little things and going the extra mile put Lee and the Iron Hen staff in another league from all of the other caterers in the Triad. It is assumed that you and your guests will only remember the reception, but the Iron Hen actually makes it memorable. My wife and I are so happy we chose Iron Hen to cater our reception and would make the same decision in a heartbeat!
We discovered FLG while searching for the perfect caterer for my sister's wedding- and boy, are we glad we did! Alex & the team were very patient and flexible with us while trying to create the perfect menu. Lee, FLG's owner, listened carefully to our needs and was fantastic at making suggestions to develop & enhance our vision. On the wedding day, we couldn't have asked for better service or a more personable team...and the food was fantastic! Halfway through our outdoor ceremony, it began to pour down rain, causing the wedding party and all of our guests to have to make a mad dash to the reception tent. FLG's staff more than rose to the occasion, quickly adapting to the situation and preparing the food quickly to accommodate everyone a half hour early! We 100% recommend FLG to anyone who is looking for the perfect addition to their big day.
