Gem of Thailand

Everything was great! The service was awesome, the food was fresh tasting & looking, authentic, flavorful & even the water was good! Loved this place & can't wait to go back!
We order "2" plates of Pad Thai...it was that good, spring rolls & Tom Yum Shrimp. All delicious!

Located on the North East corner of Blackstone and Herndon, near Dennys is a hidden little Gem of a restaurant called GEM OF THAILAND. My first experience eating Thai food was at this quaint little place. What a treat! Fresh local vegetibles go into their cooking which makes for some wonderful flavors and healthy food. I have since become a regular customer, enjoying a variety of the many items to choose from on the extensive menu but my favorites are the Panang Salmon and the Green Curry Duck. The food is prepared to order so what you order is made for YOU. I have special requests as to the mild or spicy element of the dishes I order and I have never felt my picky taste is an annoyance. What I want is made with care to suit me. How nice is that?

As if the great food is not enough reason to go there, how about the warm feeling of being so welcome. Gem, the owner, is a sweet little Thai woman who welcomes her customers, even the new first time visitors as friends. Her customers are number 1 and she makes that obvious in how she welcomes and serves them all. She employs her sister and son to help her so the family atmosphere and ethnic nature is ever present. The eclectic decor, ambient music and cleanliness are just some of the details that I find uncommon in restaurants today.

GO AND ENJOY! Lets keep this little GEM of a restaurant successful in these troubled times. The food is great and the prices are truely a bargain. I for one would like to keep going there for years to come.

A Picky Eater

The first time I ate there I was impressed. So, thinking that I just got lucky the first time, I tried them again and delicious!! I have been back nearly five times to sample the complete menu and the food is phenomenal. Prepared and served by Thai the food is natural, authentic and delicious.
