A Paul Mitchell Beauty & Cosmetology School
Going beyond the old school education, The Temple team focuses on all areas of the industry, from business management and retailing to time management skills.
Located equally close to Baltimore and Washington, DC, Frederick maintains its status as Maryland s second largest city while balancing comfortably on the line between urban and rural.
Whether you're an experienced stylist, a veteran art director, or just starting out in your career, you can rejuvenate yourself and fine-tune your craft in a relaxing, personalized, compassionate educational experience.
Our education incorporates an advanced accelerated learning system, combined with in-depth technical guidance.
Our cosmetology program features:
The art of hairdressing in a three-phase program we call core adaptive and creative.
My 2 girlfriends and I went in for a cut, color, and style after hearing some positive reviews of the place. However, that was not at all what we received. My one girlfriend has medium brown hair, and asked for blond highlights and ended up with black hair. My other girlfriend went in to the place with a picture of what she wanted, a not too complicated shoulder length, layered style, and what she ended up with was an above the ears page boy hair cut. Finally, I myself requested blond highlights, and received patches of color unevenly dispersed throughout my hair that made it absolutely impossible to wear a ponytail in public. The "learning leaders" do not watch their students efficiently enough for my friends and I to go back there with confidence. The school also overbooks their students to which they require you to leave the chair, but, have no where to go. After I was told by the owner that the school is designed for the students to make mistakes there so they wouldn't make mistakes once they get out into the "real world", we were told they would not make proper corrections to our hair, but we were still required to pay for the faulty services. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend this place to anyone.
As the reviewer noted, we are a school. When all guests sign in and register, they fill out a Hold Harmless form. This is required in ALL cosmetology schools in the State of Maryland as our students are unlicensed. Because of this, all services get paid for when they are finished. Because guests have agreed to allow themselves to be practiced on, our services prices are severely discounted over what someone would pay in a licensed salon. All guests are welcome to rebook to have their services redone if it is not to their satisfaction. Finally, our students are NOT "double booked". In fact, they are given almost twice the time normally expected in a salon to accomplish their services. However, if they run into challenges, they may run behind for their next guest. Most days, we can easily move guests to another student. Sometimes this is not possible and guests need to sit in another chair. As always, THE TEMPLE and its team apologize for the experience of this guest and welcomed her to return.
