I couldn't believe my eyes when I first seen this apartment for the price they were asking. I signed paperwork that day! All new sexy black appliances with granite countertops, french (looking) patio doors I was very impressed and so is my company. A few days in we (the residents) get a mass letter on our front doors saying we can't pull up our blinds because they want all apartments to look uniform. Sounds a lot like how the military treats you. You know that nosey neighbor that you hear about in movies? She lives here too. And her information isn't very accurate either. I've gotten notices on my door from management about noise complaints and trash being left outside when I was a victim of it myself. I think its because im young they want to blame all the young ppl that park in front of my building and sit outside of their car and talk, smoke, and drink then leave their trash sitting on the ground as they roll out, on me. Also there are uncontrollable kids here that play ball in the parking lot next to your cars, and play wall ball next to your windows. Not to mention god forbid one of these kids eggs your window; the office will charge YOU $20 for it. The playground is for an age-group from 5 & up. There's no pool or any other recreational areas of enjoyment. The apartment is great. Perhaps with some better management they could get a 5 star rating.
I am not sure where the two other people live, but I cannot believe they live at Huntington Place. If they do, I would have to say they are not being truthful. First of all, the office staff go out of their way to help me with any problems that arise. I'm not saying that I never have to call in maintenance problems, because while these apartments are very charming, things do tear up. The company has brand new maintenance people and they literally come to my apartment within a couple of hours of me calling in and I have never had to have them come back a second time. I have never felt threatened by neighbors and i know the complex runs criminal checks on people because i recently had a roommate added to my lease. They also just changed pest people and I haven't had any problems with pest. I can only say if people are mad because they did something wrong, please don't take it out on these people. If you want to know what you are getting then go to the apartments and see. someone said they lived there for two years. why? I have lived at Huntington Place two different times and I have sent many friends to live here too, but i only sign a one year lease each time. I would never re sign a lease if i was unhappy.
I have lived here 6 months and the only negative I have found is- the apartment is not insulated very well, especially the living room. The living room patio door and entrance door need to be updated. The cold air comes in from under and around the entrance door. The living room is at least 5 degrees colder that the rest of the apartment. I have a bottom level apartment and the ceiling and walls are not well insulated either. I can hear my neighbors talking through them and, unfortunately, my upstairs neighbor comes in at midnight and exercises till about 2 a.m., then gets up at 5:30 a.m. and starts it all over again. They lift weights and when they put them down, it sounds like a cannon going off. They also use a treadmill or stair climber or something that sounds like their doing jumping jacks at 6 a.m. It shakes the whole apartment, so you can imagine what it sounds like on a Saturday night when they get romantic. They also don't know how to walk up or down stairs, they always run. Other than this problem, the apartment is nice, roomy, and management keeps the grounds clean. They are also punctual about service calls and keeping the noise level down in the complex.
