I worked in a very successful Express office in North Carolina for two years until I was laid off due to declining business. I had the opportunity to get back on with the company by relocating to the Fort Smith, AR area. Within a week of starting, the other person that worked in the office and quit because the owners "weren't who she thought they were" in her own words. Not knowing what she was talking about, I didn't give it much thought.
The owners promised me the world and told me I was doing a great job. I started noticing that one of them (they are a married couple) had one way of doing things and the other had a completely different way. Neither of them were the morally or ethically right way of conducting business.
Long story short, they decided they wanted to get rid of me and fabricated a story about getting a reference request from another company (THEY DIDN'T) and then when I tried to discuss this false allegation with them, they became VERY unprofessional on a level I have never experienced. And basically blamed me for never getting everything right when, in reality, there never was a right way because what was "right" changed by the minute depending on which one of them you were talking to at the time.
Express as a company is wonderful. However, the owners of the Fort Smith office see people as nothing more than an expendable commodity and will NOT hesitate to ruin your life the moment it becomes convenient for them.
