I signed up for a class and received a call from the owner because, I was reported by another classmate because a brief discussion took place if we were going to hand quilt or have our finish product quilted by machine. Other students mention the Quilt Shop does nice work however the turn around time was around 30 days.
I handed out another business owner card of a quilter. The owner mention this was rude handing out another business card in her shop. I told the owner, this will be the last time will do any business at her shop. She offered a refund. This was so strange to even get a phone call from the owner regarding my private conversation with the other students. The instuctor Maria that was gving the class was great.

I have to follow the same sentiments as the other reviews. I sought out this store for a specific designer's pattern. I was excited to find the store only 2 blocks from my house! First it was extremely awkward to buzz in - I first thought they were closed. I also found the lady in the store (only her and I in there) to be snotty and patronising - unwilling to engage in friendly dialogue. The Amy Butler pattern was over $30! I went home and found the pattern at Amazon for $12 plus an Amy Butler book for less than that - I would love to support my community's stores but I demand reasonable prices and a friendly attitude in return.

The last review was so funny because I just called this shop regarding a hand applique class and found the person who answered the phone somewhat abrasive and borderline rude.\r So came back online to google other shops in the area and found this review so I had to add to it. It's a real shame that she acted this way because I was in the market for a new machine!

The small but nice selection of fabrics, notions and books are beautifully displayed in the shop. Honestly, the merchandising is the best part of visiting Once Upon A Quilt. The prices are the same as what you'd find in most quilt shops. For the most part, the staff is pretty nice although they tend to make you feel kind of self-conscious as you are looking around. However, I found the owner quite abrasive so I stopped going in. There are some other quilt shops in the area where I feel much more welcomed. Lastly, I feel kind of weird going into a quilt shop where I have to be buzzed in!
