Amazing Restaurant in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Himmarshee is a Foodie's Paradise. Seriously can't find anything on the menu that I don't ADORE. Just thinking about it makes me salivate.

MY FAVORITE FOODIE RESTAURANT IN FLL

    Provided by

Two words for you: Stuffed Dates. Okay, I've always got more than just 2 words to say (about everything.) and this is no different. HBG is like walking into a San Francisco foodie haunt... a place where all the chefs and serious Gourmands in the city go to savor the best and brightest. Always my first choice.

    Himmarshee Bar and Grille

Fantastic! The chef changes menus ever season and comes up with a variety of international flavors! The service is always excellent and the location on Himmarshee Street has a nice atmosphere!

    Overly rich food

    Provided by

This is a high-end, great-looking place with good service and knowledgeable staff. Too bad the food is overly complex. We had 2 different appetizers and 2 different entrees, and they all suffered from from the same problem -- the use of too many highly-rich or overly-sweet ingredients that overpower your palate. The dishes were inventive and high-quality, but we could have shared a couple of appetizers and been just as happy.

Great food, great service, unfortunate tipping policy

    Provided by

Had dinner here on a Sunday night, which turned out to be ""Guys Night Out"" - half-priced entrees for unescorted men (aka no women). Had the salmon - excellent! - and the chocolate torte - tasty and not oversized. The service was attentive and warm. However, when the bill arrived, the experience was somewhat marred by the automatic addition of 18% gratuity. I understand this is common in southern Florida but the menu clearly states, ""18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more"". Thus, I was surprised to see it for a solo diner. I was planning on a 20% tip, due to the excellent service, but the misleading gratuity policy convinced me to stick with their 18% instead. Enjoy the food here but be don't be surprised about the tip.

Martini List Is Just The Begining of the Fun...Great Food

    Provided by

My family was bubbling over the summer fun martini list (we loved the watermelon and cucumber) but my wife (an expert in her own right) said the Cosmo's were the best ever. The meat dishes (pork chop, lamb) and the fish (encrusted yellowtail) were particular stars of the evening. Everything was cooked to perfection Just one of the more pleasant evenings of our vacation.

Himmarshee Bar & Grille, Still a Cool Spot

    Provided by

I've always loved this place...Himmarshee is under new ownership and there seems to be a new energy there too. The neighborhood is a bit more clubby late at night, but the restaurant continues to be\r a great spot for foodies (and hipsters) alike. They have a bar next door called Side Bar.\r \r The other night we were treated to an amuse of salmon fries with a wasabi aioli that was incredible. The chef at Himmarshee is a food artist! I think he is Morrocan. Some of his combinations sound wacky, but when you taste them, the flavors are fantastic. For instance, I was never a big fan of dates (the kind you eat--well, the kind you can eat that aren't human), they stuff them with bacon and gorgonzola cheese...sweet with a bite.\r \r Lunch is good too, I especially like their hamburger or the pasta dish and it seems to be a place where the movers and shakers go during the day--""where the elite meet to eat and pick their seats""...\r \r But seriously, I've recommended Himmarshee to a lot of friends over the years and it's the one place \r I never get a bad review back from.\r \r

    Fantastic Food!

    Provided by

This was an incredable experience! From the minute I walked in to the end. The greeting, the service, the food -everything executed to perfection! Our server Tracy (who was very knowlegeable and on the spot) asked how we found the restaurant. I said ""Robin' at 4140 Bar and Grill told us about it when we were having another great dinner experience there. Apperently it's the same owners? Tracy confirmed and took our wine order. A few minutes later we're being served an amazing mouth watering appetizer, ""compliments of the chef"" they said. Now that made me feel special. We continued and enjoyd our meel, finnished off with some apple cake type desert. YUM! This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Fort Lauderdale! You must try it!!\r \r \r \r \r

    Great food and location!

    Provided by

When I heard ""Bar & Grill"" in the name, I was immediately skeptical. I must say, however; that this restaurant has amazing food, it's easily wheelchair accessible, and the service is outstanding. It is quite noisy and I did have trouble hearing my husband at times, but we still really enjoyed our experience there. They are walking distance from the theatre, so as soon as we finished dinner, we walked only 2-3 blocks to see the Broadway Musical. Try the Creme Brulee! It was divine!

    Consistently excellent!

Himmarshee Bar & Grill is one of the best restaurants I have been too. Tim and Peter are great. My husband and I were one of their first customers and knew immediately that this little gem of a place was going to be one of our favorites and it has to this date! Their dishes are exciting and entertaining - not to mention simply delicious and service ia always friendly and consistently excellent. In all our visits (which have been many) we have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this South Florida experience...

    Miami Beach style for less

    Provided by

I don't mind paying the price of good food, as long as it is worth it. This restaurant has a very good selection of dishes and wine, all at reasonable prices. I have paid more for the same type of food in South Beach. I have been there a few times for lunch and dinner and the food was always excellent. Good for dates or to catch up with a friend. It is a little noisy, but it wasn't like I couldn't hear the friend I went with. The bar attached to the restaurant gets packed with very nice trendy people at night. I was happy I find a place like this without driving to Miami Beach. The only flaw is that the tables are a small and they are a bit too close to each other.
