Ross and his team at Downtown Transmission are the best! My Kia Optima apparently had a different engine installed at some point before I purchased the car and that made things difficult. I didn't have enough funds to rebuild the transmission so I had to get a used one from a junkyard. The junkyard delivered 3 transmissions that didn't fit properly. Ross dug in and searched until he found the right one for my car. The process took two weeks which was not their fault. I'm very thankful they hung in there and worked with me and never gave up. They are a very honest and hard working group of people there at Downtown Transmission and I highly recommend them to everyone! Thank you Downtown Transmission!!

Great place for an honest evaluation and repair of your transmission. They will tell you what is wrong and how to repair it....no games or dishonest tactics.



I had a complete diagnostic test drive done for FREE and thy were honest about the fact that the transmission was not in need of repair, just routine maintenance. One of the owners drove my car for 20 minutes and had a computer hooked up the whole time. Very thorough and these guy really know their stuff!

I paid over $2,000 for my transmission to be rebuilt at downtown transmission and they NEVER fixed the problem! I had to bring it back to them over 7 times because they took all my money and it was in warranty for a year. Through that year I had to bring it back at least 5, when the warranty ran out they charged me another $600 to fix the same problem they never fixed in the first place. After they "fixed" it again I had a one money warranty and had to bring it back in less than a month. They "fixed" it again and it didn't even last one month last time. They tried to charged me another $2,000 14 months later so I just took my car elsewhere. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER BIG TIME. As you can see I am not the only person that has had problems here and I do plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau....

Beware of this company. The owner, offered to buy my car for $1500. Getting the title took several months because the bank that is now out of business did not release the original lien. When the paperwork was finally completed and submitted for transfer, I found out that Downtown Transmission had already transferred the title claiming the vehicle was abandoned on their property and now refuses to pay for the car. It seems that in Florida if you leave a car at a repair shop for more than 30 days they can claim it's abandoned and take possession. I was in constant contact with the owner and he assured me it was OK to leave the car on the property until I get the title. I called the police, but they say it's a civil matter and I need to file a lawsuit. Amazing!!!
