I sacrificed my birthday present to go to this place, and I was damn happy I did so. I ended up tipping almost everyone I came in contact with that night. The service, the atmosphere, the food..... it all hit the sky and beyond. */|\\* The first thing that I loved was the free valet. Too bad the mall doesn't offer that, eh? When you first walk to the courtyard, you can make your presence known to the staff, grab a drink from the bar and stay outside to enjoy live entertainment and get a small but nice window view of the kitchen. */|\\* All of the staff were very nice and pleasant to deal with. Our waiter was using a PDA to keep track of our tab instead of writing it all out. The only two forms of paper you'll see in Chima are the menus and TP. */|\\* As soon as you tell them you want the $50 steak dinner(and you're an idiot to go there just for the "salad bar"), you can then proceed to go to their extensive and finely crafted salad bar, featuring soups, traditional salads and even some interesting pasta-type salads like Calamari. Once you return, you are instantly bombarded with chefs bringing you giant skewers of meat of all varieties. Lamb, tenderlion, salmon, ribs...... you get the idea. The atmosphere is relatively dim, but pleasant. */|\\* My only big complaint was I was not able to taste some of the Lamb Shanks they were offering to other people, but I was full of meat enough not to care. If you want to take your sweetheart to a fancy place where the food is awesome and you both lust for delicate and flavorful food, look no further. And take them down to the beach to walk off all that food. You'll need it.
It's a lot of fun here conversation always going on with the person sitting next to you or your bartender. The place looks great inside it's small but it's a very fun environment they have this tradition where you can write on a dollar bill and staple it on the wall to show that you have been there I can't tell you how many single dollar bills are stapled around the walls there. All the bartenders are very attractive very cute most of the girls wear knee-high socks and it's about 90% female stuff. You will never see anybody on their phone in there they all take their job serious food comes out almost immediately prices are easy to work with and they specialize in fireball whiskey they even have these amazing chicken wings called fireball wings make sure you try them it's probably the best wings I have ever had and I have been to a lot of wings places these will get you hooked. It's right down the street from me so sometimes when I can't find plans I'll take a cab up there and just go hang out because every time I'm there I always leave happy. Replace great food great bedside manner great service just amazing they actually opened up a new one off of North Federal. But this one will always be my favorite
What's not to love? The personality of Tropical Acres transcends time and trends. This staple of great dining on Griffin Rd. has been around since 1949!! That should say it all. We have been dining at Tropical Acres for around 8 years now. Whenever we want to spend quality time with friends or family we know that Tropical Acres always satisfies. If you are looking for a high brow place to dine with a fancy menu go elsewhere. If you want great food, great service and old time charm of Florida dining then this is your dining destination. The Steaks are out of this world. I get the Special Cut Filet a 10 oz juicy and tender and cooked just right. Melts in your mouth. Get this with hash browns and a salad. You won’t beat the price either. Don't miss the onion bread. They try to keep these limited but make sure to ask for some if they don’t give you enough in the basket. They are great. Desert will not disappoint, my favorite is the carrot cake. Before you dine take few minutes to grab a big drink in the bar. You will feel like you have gone back to the 50's. Can't wait to go back.
