love at first bite.
Hubby & I have eaten a pizza at Louie's twice this week! We got the 16" for 10 bucks. The slices are huge and flavorful. It reminds me of one of my favorite NY style pizza shops on the strand at Myrtle Beach. The crust is thin and crispy and it isn't greasy like the chain pizza places. Definitely worth a try! I'm planning to try the Stromboli next. I heard it's great, too.
the search is over! after four + yrs of looking for a great pizza in the rutherfordton/spindale/forest city area, the search is finally over with a visit to Louie's Cafe. as a transplanted northerner living in the south for 15yrs it's been hard finding a good northern style pizza. Louie makes a smooth, soft, yet crispy crust pizza with chunks of tomato, good quality and quantity mozzarella cheese. had it with pepperoni, which was not too spicy, yet full of flavor and noticed there was fresh basil in the sauce. obviously, Louie uses good quality ingredients to get his high quality pizza. ordered the 16" pizza with intention of eating some of it there and bringing the rest home, well, we never got out of the place with any leftovers; we ate the entire pizza there! along with our very attentive server Nicole, we had the opportunity to chat with Louie himself and they were both very personable which makes you look forward to your next visit there.
the price is great for the pie, $10 +$1.50 for the additional topping. well worth the price of a great pie. all his prices were very good from the subs, wedges or grinders as Louie call them, to the calzones, stromboli, salads and dessert. why eat corporate pizza from the other places when you could have the real deal at Louie's, we will be going back soon, real soon!
