- General Info:
- We were founded in 1962 as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing rehabilitative services to adults released from correctional facilities. The effort was led by a group of volunteers working under the direction of the Reverend Eli Alston Wilkes, Jr., a Methodist minister who labored as a tireless and devoted worker in helping those less fortunate. Today, the Alston Wilkes Society is the largest statewide agency of its kind providing direct services in the United States. One by one, we are making a difference. By reaching out to those in need and providing rehabilitative resources, we are helping to turn lives around. As an organization, we take pride in integrating our core values into everything we do. Each month, we focus on a different value. The core value for April is DIVERSITY.
