Sears Parts & Repair Center

I took a Craftsman pressure washer in for repair. It cost me $45 just to have it sent to their repair facility to be looked at. After a couple of weeks, I got a phone call from that facility to the effect that the pump needed to be replaced at a cost of $350, which was almost the cost of a new complete unit. Naturally, I opted out and the washer was returned to me. I ordered a replacement pump from amazon.com and installed it myself (normally a 30 minute job). Total cost: $100.00. I will neither use Sears repair facility nor purchase any Craftsman power tools in the future.

Sears Parts & Repair Center carries practically all of the replacement parts for my Sears Craftsman lawn tractor that searspartsdirect.com carries. The bonus they offer is that if they do carry the part you do not have to pay the ridiculous shipping and handling charges that searspartsdirect.com charges for each item! Added bonus, you can pick it up the same day. That was important for me since I did not want to wait the seven day delivery date searspartsdirect.com was quoting me. The parts associate named Mike was exceptionally helpful in securing the right parts for my model. He looked up the schematics while on the phone with me so I could be sure the part I needed was the correct part. He even allowed me to prepay for my order and hold it so my brother-in-law (who lived closer to the store) could pick it up. Excellent service Mike and Sears Parts & Repair Center. Thanks alot.
