Flooring
The monoslope building features concrete flooring and concrete on the lower four feet of wall to protect the building from damage. Steel gates are used to separate pens. To prevent condensation build-up, Morton’s Dry-Panel is used on the inside of the roof.

At Morton, we offer a variety of practical, timesaving features that help to enhance the health and safety of your equine. One key element is your building’s ventilation. Good ventilation can be achieved through fan-powered cupolas, vented sidewall overhangs, windows and doors. Safety is also important, which is why Morton stalls are strong and designed to keep your horses secure.

Our crews construct the insulated, lockable shell of the home, with no interior wall framing, which allows the interior finish to be completed by you, the homeowner, or your own general contractor.

Skylight Repair/Replacement
Another key component of your horse riding arena design is ventilation and insulation. Arenas, like stall barns, require roof insulation and ventilation to help control summer heat gain and to reduce condensation during cool seasons. Vented walls are also great for ventilation and allow you more control over your building’s environment. To further control condensation, the arena should have vented overhangs, power cupolas and large endwall or sidewall sliding doors, which also aid in summer ventilation. Skylights and doors add light and increase ventilation in your arena natural lighting preferences. A fiberglass sky belt high on the wall will diffuse light rather than windows, which could spook horses with shadows.

Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
Additionally, post-frame buildings include an attic, allowing for more effective ceiling insulation, enhanced air circulation and condensation control. In a standard steel-frame building, insulation is draped over roof purlins and compressed when the roofing is applied, resulting in the loss of nearly half of the thickness of the insulation.

Insulation
Morton Buildings has long maintained a goal of providing our customers with efficient and effective structures. One example of that goal occurred in 1971—the year Morton Buildings introduced its revolutionary insulation system to the construction industry. This insulation system was so advanced, it exceeded energy conservation mandates that would be introduced two decades later. Today, it is still one of the most efficient insulation systems on the market.
Masonry
Wainscot: Adds a nice optional element to your building’s exterior—allowing different color schemes and breaking the vertical lines of the walls. From a practical perspective, it is easier and less expensive to replace a short steel wainscot panel damaged by ground’s-care equipment or a vehicle—than it is to replace a full-length steel panel. Several optional wainscot materials are also available: Novabrik™, Moderra™, masonry and HardiePanel®, as well as others.
Electrical Work
For Morton Buildings, the Energy Performer insulation system has been in place for nearly 50 years and continues to evolve as the premier efficiency model in the industry. At the time it was introduced, the system was so advanced it exceeded energy conservation mandates that were not introduced until two decades later. The configuration also allows plumbing and electrical work to be placed between the insulation and finished wall – allowing minimal penetration.
