We have a business very near The UPS store in Fitchburg. In the past I have shipped frequently from 3 different UPS Store locations. I have always found the Fitchburg branch to be more expensive but many times went there anyway for convenience of location. I have had an experience on 8/16/2013 that has changed my mind and I will never go back. Long story short, the owner of the store was helping me follow up on a claim being made because UPS did damage to a shipment to our customer. The claim started two weeks ago with owner not following up and asking for more and more data. I emailed back all answers to his questions and provided all his requested documentation with in the same day only to have no response until I called or emailed again. When I started to get a bit annoyed and asked what was taking so long to do this claim his one sentence email reply back was: “Please contact ups and complete the claim directly. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.” My reply back was then: “No problem and considering the level of service received from your store we will not be back.” I have not heard from him since and I will never go back. I get great service at another location, it is worth the drive. This is the second time I have had to make a damage claim to UPS due to damage found on the receiving end. (We are a business that ships frequently) When I had the identical experience at another branch this took one phone call from me and the UPS store handled everything else in a quick and pleasant fashion. This really did not have to be so hard and in the end was completely blown off by the owner of the store!
