DissatifisedParent, I believe ...

DissatifisedParent, I believe your FIRST NAME name is Torrian... I saw you each morning, we dropped our children off about the same time. I have to tell you, as a parent am extreamly glad those teachers don't have to deal with you anymore. You have to be one of the unhealthest, unhappiest people in the world! There are meds for whatever disorder you may have. What your problem comes from it's not the center, you are just an unhappy person inside and I really feel for you children most of all. I could go on and on about what I saw out of you each day and your post of lies but I won't ..Bottom line is unhappy people post unhappy posts. Whatever center you went to I feel for them.

The teachers at Kiddie Academy are great teachers and they do a wonderful job with the children.

Thank you Kiddie Academy.

My daughter has been in Kiddie Academy for almost 3 years. We were the first family to sign up for Kiddie Academy before they opened their door. While no doubt there was growing pains, the center was great to us and we still have our toddler in the center. Our oldest in now in 2nd grade and she is at the top of her class! The center we were at before this was dirty and my daughter was sick all the time. Not Kiddie Academy. The place is clean and smells good! THank you for the daily care of our children!

Overall
My daughter was in their sch...

My daughter was in their school age summer program and my younges was in ther toddler room. The summer program, in my opinion, can be charaterized as a glorified daycare, where the kids went on a few field trips. The summer program was unorgainzed, lacked a focus for the kids, had not instructional piece to help the kids continue to engage in math, science and language arts, etc, there were no theme based activies. What really got to me is that my daughter informed me when were talking about the movie trip, that the kids had to share one bowl of popcorn. So, you have 10+ kids grabing their hands in and out of one bowl of popcorn. No drinks were provided, but the teacher did make sure she had her drink., while the kids shared dry popcorn. I was also informed from a teacher from another childcare center who took their kids to the movies and saw Kiddie Academy kids and thier (1) teacher. She also said that the kids shared one bucket of popcorn and they also shared one soda (ewhhh!). Two of the kids had to go to the bathroom, so the teacher got up and went with them, leavnign the other 5-8 children alone in the theater. I was disgusted with what I had learned. I could not believe that when they tell parents that the kids are going to the movies, they forget to tell us that the kids either have no popcorn or share one bucket among themselves, along with one drink. If funds are low, just ask the parents to supply snall monetary fees for specific field trips, like the movie, so each child can have his/her own snack pack while at the movies.

Speaking of drinks, my daughter does not like milk, so she frequently would request water. Our last week there and what tipped the scales for me to remove my children, is that the teachers in my daughter's room told them to drink water from the sink in the bathroom. They were not allowed to go down the hall to the water fountain. My daughter did not like that, so she took the milk. What teacher would ever suggest that a child get water from a bathroom? I told the owner about it and she said that the teachers claimed it not to be true, while the last day my daughter was there, she said it happened again. This is just unacceptable and unsanitary acorss the board. I had been tracking their breakfast food for about 2-3 weeks and all they ever had was oatmeal and cherrios (or cornflakes). Their menu states that at least one day a week, the kids are suppose to recieve cinnamon bread. They are also suppose to get homemade muffins every week as well. They have no variey in their breakfast food for the children and do not stick to the menue. I felt like my children were livin' on Good times...oatmeal or cold cereal every morning ---ridiculous. They need to have more variety and try to stick to their menu they provide the parents. It was ironic that after I brought all of these issues up, they served toast and jelly on my daughter's last day. My daughter comment when she saw the toast "We NEVER had toast and Jelly". I guess they were trying to do right on some level, but too litlle too late.

So, I would not recommend this daycare to anyone. The staff and teachers are very nice, but that center has other issues, that if you do not ask your child or see for yourself, you will never know. What kid thinks to tell their parent about sharing bucket of popcorn at the movie theater? While it is appropriate between friends and family, it is not appropriate between daycare kids. If your child goes there, keep an eye on their food, where they are getting their beverages, and what they actually eat every day. If I thought action would be taken, I would report them for the bathroom water incident. That is just not sanitary.

I normally allow these messages to come through because I believe that everyone has a right to their opinion. The majority of this message is simply not true, but the words of a young child. Our summer program was never meant to be an instructional educational program during the summer. We had 20 field trips, special guest and activites that were all planned prior to anyone registering. Schoolagers are in school all year. As far as the movies and sharing popcorn, we were approved by the theater to bring in our own bowls and we DUMPED, not handled, the popcorn in their bowls. The children had WATER in cups as most parents do not want their children to have soda. Our teacher would have never left children alone in a theater--this is simply not true. This mom sent an email after she left to let me know how much she appreciated the teachers that cared for her children and how wonderful they were. Go figure.

I put my son in their Pre-K class because the other centers that I was at was not teaching him and getting him ready for kindergarten. Our last day was last week and I will tell you that he is FLYING OUT OF THE GATE and into Kindergarten. I have no doubt that he is ready for HSE schools!!!
